How far do people think he could fall in the draft due to his contract with the KHL? Or is that a nonfactor?

I don't think anyone in the last 10 years if ever had that kind of pace in the post draft year or at that age in the RSL/KHL.

Some stats to chew on:

Namepre-draft yeardraft yearpost draft year2nd post draft year
Alexander Ovechkin0.38 (15 in 40) 0.45 (24 in 53)0.70 (26 in 37)1.31 (106 in 81) in NHL

Nail Yakupov --0.82 (18 in 22) 14:24 TOI-
Nikita Filatov-0 (0 in 5)0.82 (32 in 39) in AHL0.76 (22 in 26) 16:30 TOI
Alexander Frolov0 (0 in 1)--0.74 (31 in 42)
Stanislav Chistov0.33 (1 in 3)0.63 (10 in 16)0 (0 in 9)0.38 (30 in 79) in NHL
Alexander Svitov0.32 (6 in 19)0.38 (15 in 39)0.33 (1 in 3)0.13 (8 in 63) in NHL
Alexander Perezhogin0 (0 in 1)-0.33 (1 in 3)0.44 (21 in 48)
Anton Slepyshev-0.18 (7 in 39) 8:55 TOI0.35 (9 in 26) 12:40 TOI-
Valery Nuchushkin-0.33 (6 in 18) 8:20 TOI--

Next year will be more telling of how good he really is but in any event I wouldn't expect anything close to a PPG.

First, there are enough such goals in NHL, and second, Nichushkin is big and will become even bigger, faster and stronger. Defensemen will have a lot of problems playing vs him.

Nichushkin captained team Russia to the top spot in the 5 nations U18 tournament. He finished as a top scorer with 5+6 for 11 points in 4 games.

Rest of the stats is here - http://stats.swehockey.se/Players/St...ngLeaders/3589

I guess he learned how to pass the puck

Wow he really dominated there.

Interesting that three Russian LWs form the top3 in scoring.

Nichushkin and Buchnevich played RW and Compher played C. Whoever entered the stats must be a bitter former LW

Also most of the positions are wrong now that I look closer. Kelleher was a C, Valiyev played RD, De La Rose played RW, Tkachyov played LW, etc.
