A week ago against San Antonio. The Barons have one win since the NHL lockout ended... Can we please have them back? not that they were doing that much better with all the firepower unfortunately.
So in that 6 game stretch, Martindale got one more point than Pitlick has so far in 32 games?
Yes, although until his knee injury I still had hopes that Pitlick would figure it out. He just has all the tools. Now with the injury I'm pretty much resigned to the fact that he may make the NHL, but it won't be with the Oil.

People might get mad at me, but I'm ready to write Pitlick off at this point (at least at being anything other than the very rare 4th line call up). Zero development over 2 years of pro hockey is pretty abysmal. Hamilton too for that matter.

Pretty much. If they don't show any strides next year IMO they most likely get the one year deal as place holders to hopefully be decent AHL guys.

My snap judgment is he strikes me as pot head in his spare time.
6gp-3G-3A for Martindale and 6GP-2G-3A foe Rajala I think
Nice. Martindale has been my favourite long shot prospect since we drafted him. Nice to hear some good news about him. Never had much hope for Pitlick or Hamilton, but you never know. Maybe they'll put it all together next year. :/

They should have left Pitlick in junior, not rush him to turn pro. The kid has some nice tools (skating, shot, physicality) but I'm close to writing him off too.

I think what we are seeing is what I feared awhile back. Guys that looked really good in Junior because they simply were bigger/stronger/more physically mature than everyone else.
Pitlick was probably OKC's best player in the playoffs. I don't know about you but I am not writing of any 20 year old. That is why you have a minor league system to give guys all the time they need.
After seeing the Barons bring Cheechoo in on a PTO, do you think the Barons would give Gilbert Brule a shot? He was released from his team by Marc Crawford in the Swiss league early this season and I'm pretty certain he's currently unemployed.
His stats show that he's a solid contributer at the AHL level and he was pretty solid in the Coyotes run last season.
Ignoring his draft pedigree, I've always been a fan of him. He's a smaller guy who has the potential to lay devastating hits. Could you see them helping out a guy from Edmonton try to resurrect his career?

If they can convince him, definitely. I don't see him in the NHL on the Oilers (who would he displace, with his ability and what he brings right now?) but he's a talented player who would certainly help the development of other players down there. If he really lights it up and shows good defensive play and hitting, then maybe bring him up for a bottom 6 role, despite that he would make the lineup smaller.
He didn't play very well in the Swiss league according to his stats, and if he takes the rest of the year off then his career could very well be over. Hopefully he would take this offer.

Not quite, the NHLers left a little earlier, so since they left it's 8GP - 3G - 3A for Martindale and 8GP - 3G - 4A for Rajala.
For the folks dumping on Pitlick, he was heating up on the same line with Martindale and then he got injured. That's some really bad luck for him as I would not have been surprised to see similar numbers as above for him if he managed to stay healthy.
Danis was waived, but not assigned yet, I believe. So I guess he's kind of in limbo as the back-up until Khabibulin is off LTIR?
I'm thinking that we might swing a minor league deal and have Danis loaned to another AHL team. Roy and the Hoivinen need time to develop as does Bunz in Stockton. If we believe in these kids IMO it's the right thing to do.
