I'm excited to see the 4th line if they are permanently called up. I mean, I can only imagine having your first game or first few games in the NHL against the sharks and play well. In Etems case specifically. I would like to see the Minny game before making a decision though.

Rakell is staying up, since we lack organizational depth at center. if we called up Holland to replace him, and then one of our top 4 centers got hurt, whos' next in line? Rakell is doing a fine job as the 4th line center.

Etem made some things happen, something DSP has failed to do, so i see no reason to sit him yet

I thought etem/palms would be in the line up.... rakell has been a big surprise tho, seen him at world juniors and stuff and thot he was one of the better players in the tourny but didnt think much of it since it was juniors.

I would love for Rakell to stay up anchoring our 4th line. I really think it'd be great for him. I think Etem deserves a game or two more before we make a decision. Smith-Pelley really ought to be sent down at this point, I think. Too young to be sitting in the press box.

I'm curious about Vatanen. Too young to be wasting time in the press box as well. I'm wondering if he gets a look at some point? We know Bruce loves him, so we'll see.

I like the kid line a lot, but that was one game. Beleskey on the top line, although it worked, I don't agree with. I'd almost be willing to give Etem a whirl up there.

Bobby really needs to pick it up and I think our D still has a lot of room to improve. However, I am very glad to finally see Souray have a good game - he was worrying me big time.

Allen is Allen, big, shot-blocker/pk, bottom pairing guy. I think we're expecting too much out of him for his skill set. I've been fine with his play.

Rakell plays really nice, but he avoids all physical contact. I`d like him to go to juniors and develop his physicality more, but, oh well, we have noone to put in his place

Rakell certainly needs to add muscle/bulk but his style fits the NHL. He protects the puck decently for his size and that will only get better.

I think developing him on our 4th line is ideal, to be honest.

If Rakell stays with the team, I wonder if they give him a chance to centre the 2nd line

I don't think he's shown that he's capable of taking a job like that on.

Eh, i dont think Allen has been that good, just okay. Id be fine with his play too if it was on the 3rd pairing but hes not hes on the first. He needs to improve or be moved to a diff pairing.

I absolutely think Vatanen is going to get a chance. I think the only reason he didn't start last game is because BB knew it was going to be a tight checking game. I think he'll get a shot before he gets sent down.

I heard that Hazy said during the pre-game show that the coaching staff hinted that Vatanen might play in one of these upcoming games.

Yeah, that's my point. He needs to be off the 1st pairing, so it's hard to knock him too much, he's not a top guy. I'd be fine with Fowler/Beauchemin or Fowler/Lydman as our top.

Bonino has shown more than Rakell has at this point. Rakell looked capable of sticking around the 4th line for one game. Word hasn't even come down that he's staying.

No thanks to Gagner. He's not enough of an improvement to use that money. If that's the route they are thinking of, I'd rather that money be spent on a top six LW to play with Getz and Perry.

Are there any good ones coming up for FA status this summer?

Wingers for the twins or #2 centers?

Theres actually a decent free agency crop of both at this point, obviously before any resignings though.

Roy, Ribeiro, Flippula, Weiss, Andy Mac if you still call him a C, at center.

Clowe, Iginla, Horton, Penner, Morrow, Larose, Cleary for wingers.

And not to mention a few poor mans options at both spots

Big bodied left wingers and 1B/2A centers actually seems to be a strength of the FA marketm which helps our needs. What our budget will be though depends on Getzlaf/Perry though obviously.

I meant top six LW'ers.

I wouldn't mind going after Clowe.

Yeah with this interesting Bruce ''pushing system'' i could see Vatanen playing, actually.

On the other hand, who of 2,5-4m defenseman will sit? Any chance us going with 11F and 7D, i wonder?
