Not arguing with any of that, just saying, they have the best goalie, a lot of depth, and the experience to do it again.
the weird part with them is that from the few games I saw the Kings play so far, Quick did not look great..granted it was just 2 games so far, but he really looked shaky and if he struggles while they try to find offense, they could be in some trouble with a short season here...teams cannot come out of the gate flat this year, if you do your toast.
I don't know. The Kings got hot at the end of last season and rode that into the playoffs. They won't be able to wait as long to get hot this year. With the shortened season, they could miss this year if they don't pick it up quick.
Kesler is still what, 6-8 weeks away? If he comes back say, the 3rd week of March, the Canucks could be out of it already.
Back on the 20th of the month, Gillis said Kesler was about 7-10 days away from skating with the team. I don't think he's laced them up just yet with the rest of the squad, but he's got to be pretty close I would think.

The 20th of what month?
"He took line rushes and fired off some slap shots. While this is a nice step in his rehab, Ryan Kesler still remains weeks away from returning to game action. The Canucks still haven't revealed a concrete timeline for his return.

January. It was over on the Nucks board... seeing if I can find a link now.

Skating with your teammates is much different than returning to practice. He's recoving from a wrist/shoulder injury so he needs to be cleared for contact before he can even start practicing fully. Toews started skating on March 7th, didn't play a game until April 12th. Granted thats a concussion and not a shoulder injury but the point is, skating does not mean your return is imminent.

Oh I know, and that only goes even more so for a guy like Kesler who had shoulder and wrist surgery... where he obviously isn't trying to test out a knee, ankle, groin, etc injury.
And sounding like the Yotes sale to Jamison is effectively dead. Didn't even come close to raising the required amount of money.
And with that, Glendale's deal is also off the table as of tonight, meaning that any future attempt to buy the team and keep them in the desert will have to be done without municipal support, as the new city council has already said that they're not passing another one.
