nickname? how about...

bingo fodder?
benchb!tch?

he looks terrible right now. absolutely terrible. slow, plodding, petrified with the puck, ineffective, not motivated. if he's in the lineup tonight it would have to be only because we're playing montreal and it might motivate him. and if he stinks as bad as he did last night, he's due for an extended period in the pressbox until someone gets hurt and we're forced to use him. i'd much, much rather have doggy in there, and z-bad has forced us to give him an extended look now with the jump he showed last night.

this could very well be his last kick at the NHL and the big stiff is in the process of blowing it.

He doesn't look like he's a good fit at ALL for Maclean's up-tempo system. Lacks the speed to keep up, and just looks like he's lost sometimes.

In fact, I'd say he'd probably have been a good fit under Clouston's old garbage system: no foot speed or elite transition game required.

I'd rather Hoffman had had a shot (collarbone fixed that). Maybe put Silfverberg left of Turris and bring up Stone when his finger is fixed.

an indicator for me is how guys carry themselves on changes. i'm not expecting an NHL player to sprint right to the door of the bench on a change like a peewee player. but on a change, a guy shouldnt noticeably just quit 15-20 feet from the bench and glide slowly over time and time again. latendresse has done that constantly this year. it drives me insane. if you aren't going to contribute on the ice, you damn well better not dawdle over to the bench at the end of your shift and prevent someone who IS going to contribute on the ice from coming on.

i just can't be more unimpressed with latendresse right now.

i really wanted to like this guy, thought he'd be just the kind of player we could use in our top 6.
he said all the right stuff about competing hard, going to the net and crunching guys down low etc.

what a disappointment.
he's lazy, and it sticks out because he's the ONLY one.
new to the team, trying to reinvigorate his career, great opportunity - and this is the effort level??

what happens when he gets comfortable? jesus.

It's still early days.

He hasn't shown much, but that pass to Turris was a laser and that's something to build on.

We'll see if he has the gumption to keep at it.

This quote is great:
"Usually at morning skate, I really go easy. I don't do much. I like shooting pucks."

To be fair, you don't go all out during the morning skate anyways. It's not like we go around saying a player sucks during games and is awesome at practice.

Its just a funny sounding quote, you don't need to read into it that much, officer fun police

to me he's shown enough to know he could be pretty good if he had anything above a zero compete level.

Yup lol.

In his first few games he was hitting everything. Last few games he's been doing fly-by's or that weak little chicken elbow to try and slow down the guy with the puck. Gonna need to see a bit more heart if he wants to play for the Paulrus.

I initially thought he might become another Kovalev when we signed him, hopefully, he won't but so far it's not looking good. There is still lots of time to turn it around but I'm not sure he has the heart, the drive or the ambition to work harder or do more. We'll see.

I don't think he's that bad but I think he's a poor fit for our system so far - he's like the odd man out who doesn't get Maclean system. I guess silf looks similarly lost at times but he's found ways to be effective

Bottom line is he can't keep up with the wicked pace of the game these days.
If you are a step behind you will have difficulty doing what is expected of you.
Getting the odd garbage goal and banging the net is his strength. Puck luck has not been good to him either. He has had his chances.
