Theirs speculation that he was sick that game. Alfie was out with the flu.

He didn't look like himself. He was solid defensively but he wasn't rushing the puck at all really and his shooting was off.

Vs Pittsburgh, it's as if like Karlsson never played, did nothing that Karlsson normally does, looked rough on the ice and on the bench. 2 days later (last night), we're back to the better Karlsson than last year.

He also looked gassed often, had a personalized water bottle on the bench, etc. Most signs indicated sick or at least not feeling his best.

EK is one of the top 3 players in the league, it will not be possible to keep him away from Hart discussion.

It's going to be tough to justify since defensemen and goalies have their own awards. Ever since Theodore/Pronger won the Hart, I think there's a stigma against non-forwards winning the award.

That being said, we know how good EK is. If he gets another Norris this year, and even a Hart, we'll be trending for HHOF talks haha.

I love EK. Definitely!

He's just a player that works so hard to get better and better. He has such passion for the game, and wants to win. Its great to see. And he knows his strengths and weaknesses, and uses his strengths to cover up the fact that he may not be all that physical.

People always say EK will be shut down, but its been like 2 years now. He's a force!

What I absolutely love about EK is his ability to play with crazy swagger on the ice and be a pretty humble guy off the ice who tries to improve as much as he can without taking games off. If he isn't having a good game you can't say he isn't trying.

His defense on the rush is exceptional. He could probably improve when the other team is cycling the puck downlow, but this season, I'm sooo impressed with his defense.

I will lose my **** if people call him one-dimensional now.

29 minutes. No one else even touched 20 minutes.

Absolutely amazing. 1 point but if 3rd assists count he would have had 3. He absolutely dominated defensively. Destroyed em.

Also he was on the PP and PK equally with ~4 minutes a piece.

Yeah, it was always overstated but now it's totally BS. Every night he's taking puck after puck off opposing forwards' sticks. And then moving around them like they're standing still and launching a rush the other way.

He's a one man transition play.

I am confident to say he is our best defender on the team, both offensively and defensively. Methot has been phenomenal but Karlsson has been just as good and imo, better.

Amazing defensively and should of had 3 assists.

Karlsson is a top 5 player.

Time to start a false modesty thread. Start flattering Pietrangelo, Subban, Letang, Weber, Chara to no end. Pooh-pooh any lauding of Karlsson's talents and evidence of his game becoming more defensively well-rounded.

After reading other boards, I think others are finally starting to realize just how good he is both offensively and defensively.

I can't get over how much of a treat he is to watch. He makes it look so easy with the way he controls the flow of the game when he's out there.

That Anderson dude is probably also the best goalie on this team, both offensively and defensively. He hasn't been so hot on the offence but then again neither has Bishop.

Nah, I'd rather wait till we have a really good reason to. We will soon, because he's been fantastic.

Oh and Karlsson not only broke 60 points, he almost hit 80...

Has Schenn hit 30points yet?

The only time I don't like Anderson is when he's handling the puck...
