He would give depth to the 4th line in case one of them get dinged up, plus he is an experienced penalty killer.

I'm not sure I want Darche unless he's on a two way. Like I said in the other thread. who leaves the lineup once Henrique gets back? You really gonna send Tedenby up to Albany if he's playing good? That would be really stupid. They've already made it clear Janssen will not be going to Albany despite the two way contract. If everyone is healthy, and we still have 8 defensemen, who goes if Darche is signed?

Thanks, all i wanted to know, i don't care either way about signing him or not

Darche doesn't need a 2-way contract. I understand the hesitation but he's an NHL player. He's been effective as a 3rd liner recently and his underlying numbers are rather good. He'd be a great scratch and would help out with the depth.

Guys fantasy question: I am trying to acquire Kovy in my league.

I started by offering Ovi for Kovy. The guy knows i am a big Devils fans so he countered with (you will love this) Kovy and Shaun O'Brien for Ovi and Chara! Clearly i will not do that. Looking to counter he needs dman. We have a couple of FA guys i wouldnt mind making a 5th dman for my team (we run 4 D in this league) I have Chara, Enstrom, Ehrhoff, Yandle, and Goligoski.

I dont want O'Brien id just release him so i am debating Ovi and Goligoski for Kovy just want to see what others think. Part of me feels like i am giving up to much. FYI this guys D is horrible he only has 4 Dman and 1 is O'Brien so that tells you something.

Adam Larsson?

Hi! I'm a fan of your Larsson, but was wondering...I don't see him in the lineup? I really want to take him in my hockey pool (already took your Brodeur!), but...is Larsson playing right now? day-to-day injury? healthy scratch? Predict a good season for Larsson? (I would think so, imo, but you guys would know more...).

Thanks in advance for any info (appreciated).

Cheers!

Scratch until a dman is traded. We just have too many NHL Ready dmen

Deboer and Lamoriello have both said he will play a large role with the team this year

Thanks for the info

Wow! Im surprised! Larsson scratched? What the...?
I was thinking very large role, as well...but why does Larsson have to wait? He should be getting all the PP time right now, imo.

From what I know (but of course you guys know way more than me)...Larsson is a star (and more) dman in the making...PP specialist, 5 on 5, and maybe some PK?, but...healthy scratch right now? waiting for a trade?...so he is #6-7 dman right now...I was going to pick him 'cause I'm hoping for 25pts (48 games) from him this season. Anyways...that's great D-depth for NJ. Would love to put Larsson right now in my Habs' roster...right now!!

Good luck to Larsson...imo a very near future star dman (but I was thinking for sure he would start the season...very surprised about that...gotta check that New Jersey D-depth roster to see who is stopping Larsson from playing right now...Mark Fayne is ahead of LArsson right now? i guess he's playing strong D to be ahead of offensive Larsson...your coach/gm knows more than me, that's for sure!).

Cheers!!

I'm interested in taking Zajac in my fantasy league we do total points for one year. My other options are Skinner, Duchene, and Huberdeau. Would Zajac be a better option than those other players? Is he centering Kovy?

If you really want Kovy, I say go for it. I don't know how much you can count on Goligoski replicating a near-50 point season, and there'll surely be some defenseman who everyone slept on that you can pick up early enough.

Yes he's centering Kovy. Not sure about taking him over the other guys, but I feel in an 82 game season he can get back to the 60-70 point mark he was getting when Parise was his winger years ago.

He is centring Kovy, and he has started the season on a hot streak. Duchene is also a good choice, but I think you would do well with Zajac.

Hey guys, I have Larsson in my keeper hockey pool. I also have Pietrangelo, Del Zotto, McDonagh. I'm only going to be keeping 2 of these guys. My question is why isn't Larsson been playing and do you think it would be worth for me to keep him or should I drop him?

The team at the moment has too much defensive depth. Someone has to sit, unfortunately its been him. DeBoer has gone on record and say he will have a big role on the team this year. Its a matter of when, not if. Can't speak yet of what his production will be, as its unknown what his pairing would be, if he'll get power play time, etc. It all remains to be seen based on where he slots in and who gets moved during the course of the season. Your other 3 defensemen you have an idea of what you'll be getting production wise (or at least a better clue). Larsson is going to be your long term investment if you think the fantasy production will be there down the line. But he won't give you the immediate production (this year for certain, not sure about next year) in all likelihood.

Thanks for the response. I have an extra dman so I was wondering if I should pickup an available forward. I'm definitely keeping Pietrangelo, and more than likely one of OEL or MDZ. Obviously Larsson has a ton of upside but I can likely get him again next season at our draft. Again thanks for your feedback, best of luck the rest of this season.

Hey diehard Devils fans...I figured this would be a good spot to talk about past players. Our interview with former Devil and 1995 Stanley Cup champion Tom Chorske is now up on our site! Lot of interesting stuff from Tom, including his thoughts on leaving the Devils and his future in the world of hockey. Thanks for reading!

I don't know if this is the right section, or if it has been answered but me and some friends were talking about the upcoming draft. And I couldn't remember when you guys have to give up your 1st round pick? I am sure its a very sore subject and I don't mean to offend anyone by asking this question. I am just curious.
Thanks

It'll most likely be next years draft, as we are hosting the draft this year.

That doesn't sound like the kind of thing that Lou would let dictate what he thinks is best for the team.

Need input on Jacob Josefson

Hi Guys,

I'd just like to get some input on Jacob Josefson. I recall some were pretty high on him and he seems to have the potential. I didn't get to see him play much and have no clue where he's at in his development. Is he playing 3rd line minutes this season? What type of production do you expect and what's his upside?

Thanks in advance!

He's gonna be great on shootouts I hear and probably a defensive specialist - 3rd line C.
