Morrow's breaking down. Back problems and neck problems. No surprise, the way he plays. Wheels are gone. But the guy could fill the greybeard who says what's what role, possibly.

Ryder is kind of a one-trick pony. Soft guy who doesn't use his size but has a sick release. Best part of him is he's right handed, which the PP needs badly.

I could see the stars wanting to get rid of these two simply because of their age and what they make.

That cap space will go fast and spending 4.1 million of it on a player like him that may be done is risky. I guess they could always send him to the minors like Miro Satan to get out from the cap hit if that's still legal in the new CBA. I'm not sure.
That 4.1m is off the books this summer, and is prorated. We have something like 40m in available space (in full contracts) at the deadline. It's not an issue.

You can't send him to the minors to avoid the cap hit.

The problem with Iginla isn't his salary but getting Calgary to part with him is the real one .

Yeah, I'd love to have Iginla here but I have my doubts Calgary will trade him and I also have my doubts he's going to keep playing at a high level for very much longer so I'd be hesitant to part with the King's ransom that Calgary will surely ask for.

If Iginla is on the market we won't get him with whatever crap package HFers keep throwing together.

not Morrow. Probably the rest, but I hate Chris Kunitz right now.

No. How about a first rounder and Matt Cooke & Tangradi?

I'm much more torn about blowing our load to get Iginla because even if he sticks around he's likely to decline and we'll still be stuck looking for the winger for Sid.

I'd give Anaheim whatever combination of picks and/or prospects they want for Perry. I'd take my chances we could re-sign him. He's young enough to be the answer on Sid's wing for a long time and quite honestly brings a nasty side and an attitude that this team is really missing at the moment imo.

And Carolina fans complaining that he didn't get much of a chance. Andrei Loktionov also wants out of LA because he isn't getting a chance. Just goes to show it doesn't just happen here to guys like Tangradi etc. A lot of coaches are that way for better or worse.

Dunno enough about Boychuk but Loktionov seems like he's been a "prospect" for the better part of a decade. I don't know how much the Kings can be blamed for that one.

Dont know if the Pens would have what it would take to land Kessel but he is young, a proven 30 goal scorer, quick and a right handed shot. Good cap hit of 5.4 for one more season aswell.

The have the return being similar to that of what Jeff Carter got for the Blue Jackets

I'd do Pouliot and a pick for Kessel. I don't think he's worth as much as Carter. Carter is a centre signed long term on a good cap hit. Kessel, while a talented player in his own right, plays a less important position and only has 1 1/2 years left on his contract.

Just look at New Jersey. Adam Larsson have been a healthy scratch for every game this season

If they would accept something close to the carter deal I would do Despres and 1st in a heartbeat.

Shero passed up on getting Semin on a risk free contract for free. Doubt he's moving significant assets for a guy who avoids contact and is largely a perimeter player.

I don't agree, but is what it is.

I'm not a huge fan of Kessel. I mean, I love what he does, he's really fun to watch, and he'd add a huge goal scoring dimension outside of Sid, Geno, and Neal, but that's also another point. We have two guys who can score 50 in Sid and Geno, and 1 guy who can score 40. Adding a guy like Kessel is adding a ton of salary, taking away flexibility, and also like lighting a match with a flame thrower. Completely unnecessary and overkill to a problem that may not be goal scoring at all.

We have a chemistry problem...not a goal scoring problem.

He's far from my ideal winger... but I'd probably do that too.
