Sorry but Price, Miller, and Ward don't belong in the conversation yet. Not for a few rounds.

I'd also hold off on including guys like Elliott or Schneider just yet, cuz I'd like to see them put up superior numbers over more than one year.

I'd have Rask, Kiprusoff, and Howard in their place. Consistently in the top 10-12 every single year, when Miller, Price, and Ward have great seasons followed by off-seasons.

While I don't think many would agree that Halak is the best overall, I don't think many people doubt Halak's goaltending prowess. It's Elliott they scoff at.

Good point. I think Elliott is an enigma. He played so well last seaon when called up but every now and then I think "What the heck is he doing out there?". He needs better consistency but when he is on, nothing get's by him.

I actually think Rinee would be at the top of my list.

Lundqvist and the only other one even in his realm of existence is Jonathan Quick.

1. Lundqvist
2. Rinne
3. Quick
4. Lehtonen
5. Price/Ward

Add Lehtonen (a pretty glaring omission) and Rask.

To whoever said to add Vokoun; way too early. He's not a top 10 goalie anymore, if he ever was at all.

He's the only goalie in my opinion that's even close enough to Lundqvist to see him. That's not saying he's as good as Lundqvist.

He's been excellent in the last 3 games. Allowing 5 goals, NONE of which were his fault remotely.

I find it funny, every time a thread like this pops up all of the Blues fans pick Rinne because apparently he's amazing against them. First of all, the Blues are not some offensive powerhouse (maybe this year is an exception but how many games have they played) and second, judging by how good a goalie is against one team is silly. I remember when Stephen Valiquette owned a good Flyers team.

Lundqvist. Guy is just great.

Couldn't go wrong with Rinne or Quick or Price

Rinne is good in general against almost every team he plays against not just the Blues. Of course fans are going to pick the player they watch play at a high level more often. Are you really comparing Rinne to Valiquette? Look at the contract Rinne just signed obviously the Preds GM has a very high opinion of him as well and he watches him almost every game I am pretty sure.

As a Rangers fan of course you are going to pick Henrik as you see him play great on a regular basis. Rinne, Quick and Lundvist are all very good goalies and a case can be made for any of them.

Add Kari Lehtonen. I'm not voting because I seriously think he's the best.

Yeah I'm a homer, sue me.

Kari Lehtonen isn't an option???

He's easily a top 5 goalie in the league.

I forgot this is HF and analogies and exaggerations are taken literally.

I think Lundqvist is the best since as much as I kill him for his off months (hell I scream bloody murder every soft goal he gives up because of how highly the bar is set for him), his whole body of work is more impressive than anyone in the league not named Brodeur who is still very good but past his prime. Also Rinne never had a Vezina season. Also despite the criticism for Lundqvist's playoffs, Rinne has had less success than him in the playoffs.

Vokoun may or may not be as good as he once was... But he was definitely top-10 at some point. His save percentage between lockouts was top-3.

I think Rinne is very much in the realm of Quick, if not equal or superior.

nice to see people have backed up on being so insanely pro Quick a bit

I remember during the offseason and lockout he was actually winning some polls against Lundqvist

And for some reason Price is taking his spot.
