Is this the same mystery group that was going to swoop in to save the Thrashers at the last minute too?

Conspiracy theorists will wonder if this is just the NHL's way keeping a captive audience until they pull the plug. No members of the group have been named. Need to sell tickets in the meantime.

"It's still a work in progress, and we'll see how the week plays out," NHL deputy commissioner Bill Daly told ESPN.com on Wednesday morning.

In a brief telephone conversation Tuesday, Jamison told ESPN.com there wasn't much to say, and he has told media outlets in Arizona that he still was working toward completing a deal. Attempts to reach Jamison on Wednesday were unsuccessful

The NHL has owned the team for almost four years and, barring the emergence of a new suitor willing to start from scratch with the City of Glendale on a lease if things fall apart this week, it would seem inevitable the league will begin the process of relocation.

Found it. From Sports Business Daily

Quote:
SCOTTSDALE LEADERS DON'T LIKE WHAT THEY SEE FROM ELLMAN

Published September 22, 2000

After "months without seeing any evidence of how" prospective Coyotes co-Owner Steve Ellman plans to pay for a new sports complex, Scottsdale leaders "finally received hard numbers -- only to learn the developer plans to keep all the profits," according to Hernan Rozemberg of the ARIZONA REPUBLIC.

Documents that Ellman provided to the city "show he expects to sell" the $557M arena-mall complex in 2013, "walking away with nearly" $225M. Scottsdale City Council member Ned O'Hearn called the proposal "completely unacceptable. We need a much more balanced financial plan that really treats us as a partner and not some kind of an accessory."

Yes, it's a company that purchased the naming rights to an arena. One seems to be a somewhat better investment than another option he has.

The above post is neither. It must be the 1.8% of the Coyote fan base.
This **** has been dragged on way, way too long one way or the other. Too much animosity has been generated from all camps, the taunting has long been all but inevitable.

Sorry ABD. We here have a deadline to get this to the next thread before EOB January 30th, 2013 and "not one minute more". We are all "Working towards that goal very hard and we know when the deadline is." It is unknown at this time if the next thread author is willing to give us an extension should we go past the deadline.

I no longer have a sense of humor if it borders on stupidity or attacking others. Quebec fans should know better because they didn't follow the TNSE Role model, so they're 'entitled'? If you show disdain for pro hockey when you have it, Montreal affiliated or not, but basically force them out, in favor of the Remparts, who are transitory as all junior franchises are.....

Tomorrow will be interesting, one way or the other I think.

Will it be the end? Everytime we think it is, some new twist turns us down another road.

I suspect tomorrow won't be much different

Heck I'm still half expecting one of the regulars on here to show up at the press conference with a briefcase full of money and say "on behalf of Hockeys Future's business boards, WE are going to buy the franchise"

Wouldn't surprise me a bit....
