The Sharks have too many defenseman

The Sharks currently have 9 defenseman on the roster. Brent Burns and Jason Demers are returning soon.

These are the dedenseman on our roster:
Brenr Burns
Dan Boyle
Marc-Edouard Vlasic
Brad Stuart
Matthew Irwin
Jason Demers
Justin Braun
Douglas Murray
Nicklas Petrecki

Matt Irwin is the only one that is waiver exempt but might remain in the NHL because has played well.

Demers, Braun, Murray, Petrecki have the highest chance of being moved IMO. For Demers and Braun we would want a similarly talented good young forward. For Murray we would want a solid 3rd liner or a 2nd round pick. For Petrecki we would want a similarly talented forward prospect.

Jason Demers is a good young PMD with top 3 potential but is currently a 4/5 dman

Justin Braun is also a good young PMD but has top 4 potential and is currently a 5 dman

Petrecki is a big physical defensive dman. He is still a bit raw but has seemed to start living up to his potential as a former 1st rounder.

Demers is ready for next game and Burns started skating Sunday so he should be back soon. But yes, we will wait till they are fully healthy.

One of the best offseason moves was picking up Brad Stuart. He has been playing fantastic.

Vlasic isn't likely to be moved but what would you want from Minnesota? Setoguchi and Mitchell are a package by the way.

If the Sharks are out of contention at the deadline, something around S&M + Coyle?

Or Setoguchi+Coyle+Phillips for Burns

He is not going to be traded as he and Burns will be our top pair for the next 5+ years. As far as value, I'd want want Granlund+.

There is no way on earth that Vlasic is moved. He's 25, and on a shiny new contract extension. There is (barring stupid overpayment) no way in hell Vlasic moves.

The only guy I want moved is Murray. Everyone else can stay. Unless someone wants to swap a young forward of similar talent/upside with Demers/Braun/Irwin/Petrecki. Vlasic, Burns, Boyle, and Stuart go nowhere.
