Souray - What is his value?

For discussion purposes.

Souray would like to be moved to the west coast to be closer to his daughter.

So what could he fetch from either Anaheim or Los Angeles?

He's 1 year away from UFA.
Can play the point on the PP.
Will make many highlight reel plays!!!

lol the only highlight reel plays I've seen him in are the ones where he gets pantsed 1 on 1 by anyone who can skate.

According to the team 990 at noon today. This rumour is untrue. Sourray dosent want to be traded. On the other hand he wouldnt be really suprised if he was.

Ahh don't worry. I watched about 15-20 Habs games last season...including Spezza's unceremonial undressing of Souray in OT.

Other than the occasional 1-on-1 lapse, Souray has been solid in his own end and a presence at the point imo. Our transition game was a mess last year, but that's because we only have Markov to move the puck and have no complementary players for guys like Souray to help him out. Souray would be a huge upgrade from Beauchemin for cheap, and would make a nice partner for Vischnevski also. Next to Neidermayer, he'd probably put up 50-60 points and Neidermayer would grow a couple inches with Souray next to him too. LA or Anaheim would be lucky to have him.
