What does the goaltending have to do with Giroux's totals?..

Yes but don't act like he didn't have good linemates. It is pretty obvious which team was better put they both had good linemates it is just easier to shutdown a team with 1 line than a team with 2 or 3. Tavares was in on 41% of his teams goalies Giroux was in on 36% of his teams goals. Again with Tavares being 3 years younger Tavares is easily the better option not that Giroux is bad.

Whats with the Tavares tire-pumping in the OP? And the tire-deflating?? Of Giroux?

Only players I'd take over Tavares are Crosby, Malkin and Stamkos.

I like Tavares more than Giroux, but I do not think you can go wrong with either really.

This season, with their slow start, the Flyers needed hard work and quality play and good defense from everyone on the team, especially their best player and Captain. They have instead gotten laziness and no production.

For the first time in this comparison, I vote Tavares.

Most people on this site seem to think if a player is a PPG on a bad team, if they get on a good team they are going to score at 1.25 times their previous high

Perhaps it's because Giroux is the better hockey player, but no... that can't be. My inferiority complex only notices the opinions of Ranger fans who must be here only to bash the Isles player!!11

A vast, VAST majority of Rangers fans dislike the Flyers more than the Islanders, but thanks for playing.

JT is better then anyone on the rangers including Henrik "stand in the back of the net and never challenge the shooter while girardi blocks 28 shots a night" Lundqvist.

Yeah when Tavares has been the best player in the league at his position for 6 years you let me know.

That, and your comment doesn't have anything to do with what I said, but I digress.

My favorite part of this thread is people saying Tavares would be better with better linemates or a better team.

Hartnell and Parenteau had the same amount of points

Jagr was outscored by Moulson by 12 points.

If you didn't watch the flyers after about January, Jagr was the reason why Giroux didn't get to 100 points. Jagr's groin slowed him down considerably and the only thing he could do well was protect the puck. Jagr's passing was below average, his shot was non-existant, and so was his speed.

For all the trashing Phil Kessel gets, would you guys say he would be a top 5 player if he was a on a better team?

Tavares has scored at a .83 ppg pace the last 3 years.

Kessel? .86 over the last 3 years.

No one is pumping Kessel's tires and he's constantly bashed by everyone. Would everyone call Kessel a top 5 player if he was put on a better team? No? Then why say that about Tavares?

That's a good one too, but my favorite part is where Rangers fans are biased towards the captain of the Philadelphia Flyers

No, it isn't close. Giroux significantly out produced Tavares last year with linemates who produced less than Tavares' linemates.

Tavares isn't going to own anything at any point in his career. He's barely a top five player in his own division, forget the entire league.

This must be a joke. Please watch the Rangers before you continue to talk nonsense.
