We'll give you a pick and a roster player ex: Patrick Dwyer, Chad Larose, Tim Brent for Kassian

About how this sounds, only a lot worse.

I don't think Vancouver has the assets to make this deal.

Kassian might be a start kind of, but their 1st Round picks won't be high enough and it would probably take something like Kassian + 2x1st Rd to get Skinner, and even then I don't know...

Unfortunately, Jeff Skinner won't be going anywhere anytime soon. Not sure of what Carolina's needs would be but in terms of value, it would be around the ballpark of Edler/Kesler and possibly more as we'd be prying a young, proven player they have no interest in moving. Prospects, picks and spare parts won't be getting it done.

Enjoy losing the division to Minnesota while you wait for a superstar just to play on your 2nd line.

Hmmmm I think I know what you're getting at:

to carolinna: Luongo, Ebbett, Higgins, 4th rd pick

to VANCOUVER: Skinner, 2nd rd pick

Although I still think the Canucks would need to shop for another top 6 guy and a backup:

Sedin Sedin Kassian
Burrows Skinner Hansen
Schroeder Kesler Raymond
Weise Malhotra Volpatti

Lapierre

We need top-4 defensemen currently, but if you were to take Skinner out of the lineup, we'd be short a top-6 forward. One step forward (that's a maybe), definitely one step back. No way imo JR trades him after resigning him to a 6 year deal.

^ That's a joke right?

No way Carolina accepts that.

Skinner's not going to be traded.

Why the hell would Carolina trade arguably their best young forward?

They have no reason to, and by no means is he expendable. Both Staals are centermen.

The only piece we have that might tempt Carolina is Edler.

That said, it's not worth it for either team to even try to work out a trade.

Skinner's a stud, Carolina, be glad you have him.

More than anything I think the Canucks require a skilled player, with that high energy, like Skinner. Sedins while excellent, don't offer up that energy...

Like i said in the OP it would take a really big chunk from the Canucks.
lol that hardly anything

I see the Kessel trade as comparable, or at least what it was supposed to be. Maybe a #5 overall pick, and a #8 overall pick, and an early 2nd.

We can't offer such a package. Edler would have to be involved, and we'd likely have to send Jensen with him. Would Canuck fans do that? No, and that's what it would take, at least from a value perspective.

Would probably take Edler to be put in play to get the talks even anywhere remotely serious.

The overpayment would have to be huge, not only to match Skinner's value (Which I think we could do) but also to surpass it enough where Carolina would be willing to make the deal.

Without giving away a core piece(s) it won't happen, I know it's just for "what-ifs" sake but there aren't many teams IMO who could pull off a deal like that right now.

Canes have got an absolute stud, & he's going not going to be going anywhere.

Edler and Burrows would be the point where I would start to think about it, and I highly doubt the Canucks would be thrilled about that deal.

Something like that. NOT worth it.
That is underpayment.

Skinner isn't going anywhere. Do you honestly think they trade for Jordan Staal, bring in Semin for a year only to trade Skinner six games into the season for that?

That deal would be worth it for Vancouver, not Carolina IMO.

We would but only if the Canes throw in the Staals and a 1st round pick...

The Canucks are the ones asking for Skinner (in this thread). Yes, JR should roll over and trade him for scraps.

Skinners value is Kassian and Schroeder.

Or , Edler and 1st 2nd.

These values are very different.

I think the 2nd one is fair valuewise, but I have no interest in giving up what Carolina would (rightfully)want for Skinner.
