Habs lose 5-1, I watched the UFC at TVA Sports instead of half of the game.

Not even mad. Now looking forward to P.K.'s return.

By the way, those refs can eat da poopoo. So many uncalled-for penalties. It's like they just wanted to have their faces and authoritah seen out there. That penalty on Armstrong was just laughable. If a SLIGHT push in the back after warrants a 2 minute penalty, then Boston should get a game misconduct each time they demonstrate their Neanderthal instincts after the whistle. The reffing isn't even consistent. The refs just call what they like, whenever they like.

Prust IMO was awesome and showed great qualities that we were missing

Gally was good. Chucky actually didn't have a good game. His positioning and battle need to improve. He can deke around weaker teams, but not Ottawa et al. It'll get better though - that kid's ambition is sky high.

I guess opinions are mixed on Budaj. I thought he was pretty bad. Just consider how well Anderson played and ask yourself if we had that, while they had Budaj. That was the game right there. Not saying he didn't have D breakdowns, but the stops he had to make despite those weren't that tough.

Solid game by Emelin, Bourque, Markov, Diaz and Pleks. Gio too, but he needs a new strategy apart from shoot from the boards/drop pass. Sens just played them too well to do much. They'll come roaring back I predict.

Cole is trying his butt off, but it's just not going his way. That slapshot into Benoit was the worst decision I've seen all season. Ever heard of a toe drag? Or pass.

Eller played his best game so far, but again, has no help since Cole and DD can't do **** at this point. Good news is that these things will improve.

Terrible penalty(ies) by White. I love his emotion, but he needs to reign it in. It's not like this is the first time in 5 games. Armstrong was pretty good, actually.

I think we can all agree that system or not, we do need us some PK.

...I miss Patches...

I don't hate it but not happening. Eller is lucky that White will be out next game because he would be the odd man out again (not that I agree).

As for the rest, why would DD be scratched while Cole keeps his role? Cole isn't any better. No excuses!

Not entirely impressed with Therrien's personnel usage.

Desharnais was better, but not good. Eller showed promise, but also poor decision making. Cole was awful.

The Gallys were invisible until the third, where they almost helped lead a comeback. The Plek line was good but Bourque was invisible in the third.

Markov looked tired. Wasn't that sharp defensively.

I love White's energy but those penalties were inexcusable.
We definitely didn't play great, but the score was more about bad calls and bad bounces than "sucking".

The scoring chances were were pretty close, but Anderson played out of his mind and Budaj was basically in preseason form, though he had little chance on 2 or 3 of the goals.

There is no way you gonna convince me this D is big enough. This small D squad will play terrible like tonight when playing too much.

D isn't big enough. only two physical d men tonight were emelin and 5'8 bouillon. not enough. subban will help but tinordi can't be fast-tracked quickly enough

Alright, but Anderson was exceptional which made a big difference. Put in Price for us and Bishop for them and it would've been a lot closer.

But what am I saying? No Excuses!

Amstrong roughing penalty was a ****ing joke... and Bourque goalie interference aswell.

No excuse yes, but it sucks that the refs making an impact in the game

Didn't see that (didn't show it on TSN). If true, then I understand, cuz I remember one of our smaller guys got run just before that. Ottawa is gutless. I wish Cole had used his full speed crazy horse skating to lay one into Karlsson or Alfie.

The other penalties were Lulz-worthy. We should have capitalized on our chances, though.

Agreed the goalie matchup skews the score but there was a lot of poor execution all around. They were tired so it's somewhat excusable but this live and die by special teams thing isn't sustainable.

Galchenyuk needs serious work in terms of board play. Obviously he's 18, but he's miles behind his 2 linemates when it comes to that. There were a few plays were his decision making was off and a few times that he was weak on the puck or made a bad pass... All a learning experience, but things that he'll need to work on.

Have to disagree about Gio, he showed 0% hustle in the defensive zone. Absolutely putrid effort from him this game imo. To me, he's directly responsible for the 1st goal (absolutely no pressure on the point) and he could've been responsible for Karlson's goal if he didn't ring it off the post (off that one rush) where he wasn't skating at all.

As a captain, I expect more...Especially when guys like Plekanec, Prust and even Bourque are going out there and giving it their all.

They showed it a couple of time on RDS.

Phillips was blocking White's stick on the board and White couldn't get it loose, so he gave a couple of love taps on Phillips back and he got a penalty.

Meh... Honestly I'm willing to sweep this one under the carpet. After rewatching most of the penalties we took, especially the White one, I now see that while he didn't react in a smart way, he didn't deserve the penalty. I'm not one to complain about the refs, but man they were dreadful in the past two games. This time it actually cost US the game. Karma I guess. Last game could have gone to NJD but the refs kinda handed it to us. That's why I'm not THAT mad. I'm sure we'll do better next game.

Also, MT's post game interview was gold to me. Really seems like I saw the same game as him, as opposed to how I felt after watching JM's pressers...
