Vancouver has to have the least-rowdy fans of any Canadian team.
Calgary can be bad at times also.
Also how bad are the Avalanche this year...it seems like no matter how good the North West teams can get (Wild, Oilers) at least two of them are destined to suck. (Avs-Flames)

Reason: No.
Toronto and New York seem to have this problem during the regular season as well. But come playoff time those buildings are crazy.
Although every building is like this many times during the regular season, maybe except a few places like Montreal Winnipeg etc. It shouldn't be a knock against any team or fanbase.
That's what happens when ticket prices are jacked up through the roof. Hot tickets of the town become events where you can be seen or entertain others instead of being about the sport and the diehards. It's starting to take hold of the Garden year by year as the Pink Hats jump ship from their once beloved failing franchises in our town and jump onto the Bruins bandwagon. I used to be able to get balcony seats for $5-$15 back in 2008. I paid $180 for last row in the corner for Game 5 last year against Washington (which I know is still peanuts compared to regular season Canadian team prices - just merely showing the large increase, even though it was the playoffs that is still a huge jump).
Ticket prices only become affordable for casual fans and those that don't feel like getting rowdy.
Its become a "place to be seen" for the cities rich. The rink is mostly filled with extremely wealthy casual fans, or people getting tickets as corporate handouts. Its just become too expensive for your average hardcore hockey fans to get into games in Vancouver.
Edit: That being said I still try and get to a few games per year and I have been told numerous times to "keep it down", from people in my section. And its rarely ever profanity either
The lower bowl seats are ridiculously expensive...common folk have to sit up top.
I had the privilege of sitting 8th row last year for a game against the Flames; there were two people behind on their laptops during intermission and break.
Think of the way the fans used to be back in the old days haha, all drunk rowdy fans, sure they'd go crazy sometimes and throw stuff on the ice or get in fights with players..but you can't deny it didn't make for a great atmosphere. Tickets are crazy expensive now.
NBC was showing some clips of the old Boston/NY games, what a difference hah..
It seems to me that the only Canadian team that has a good crowd are the habs....other Canadian arenas are so quiet...though if the Leafs start doing something ,I would imagine that could be a pretty lively crowd!
MSG is insanely expensive, next time you watch a rangers game, look in the first few rows (where the waiters serve the fans) and you'll see everyone wearing jackets, ties, etc
There's too many corporate shills there, and the prices are so high that the true fans can't regularly attend.
I got tickets for a game last season, lower bowl center ice. The game was pretty boring, with not much of anything happening, 0-0 late in the 3rd. The Canucks get a breakaway so I stand up and some corporate ******* right behind me has the nerve to say "sit down" in one of those drawn out, snarky tones.
So I let him have it calling him a corporate shill, a fake, and the reason why it's no longer fun to watch a game in Vancouver any more.
After I get some support from the people sitting beside him, he changes up his tactic saying that I was blocking the view of his wife. ********, the angle for the both of them was fine. He basically sums up the experience and treatment you receive for trying to support your team by cheering and getting involved.
After that he starts to call out each player as they touch the puck, as if to justify his ******* behaviour before, and prove that he was a "fan". So I call him out on it and tell him to **** because I'm trying to listen to the game. And that my friend has a hard time hearing and that you're disrupting his experience.
That's why it's so quiet. ******* corporate shills that think they're better then everyone else and tell people to sit down and shut up.
