ECHL waivers...he's actually retired but dressed a couple games for the K-Wings when they needed forwards.

Question for those that have seen the W Sharks play allot, how are the "rookies" doing now that we're into the half way part of the season?

OK, for the rookies...
Yanni Gourde: Needs to starting being the goal scorer he was in juniors. He doesn't shoot enough and constantly pulls up on rushes instead of going to the net. My guess is he does not have NHL level skills.
Freddie Hamilton: Pretty good two way player, although despite 14 points so far (6-8-14) his defense is ahead of his offense. Not even close to NHL ready yet, but you can see the talent. He should top out as an NHL 3rd liner.
Travis Oleksuk: A pretty good two-way player that's having problems getting on the ice because of the talent in front of him. When I see him I think "next year".
Sebastian Stalberg: He needs to relax a little bit. He's trying way too hard offensively and when you do that very seldom does anything good happen. You can see the skill level though, so if he gets it worked out he'll be fine.
Mikael Tam: Let's just say I'm not his biggest fan and leave it at that.
Daniil Tarasov: The time in the ECHL did him a world of good. Very raw offensive talent, with tremendous potential if it all comes together.
Matt Tennyson: Playing very solid hockey. Still has a lot to learn but probably wouldn't kill you in SJ with some spot duty.
Denny Urban (on a PTO): Remember this name. The kid can flat out play. Offensive defenseman, great puck carrier, and a pretty good defensive game. His (-4) is very misleading because of injuries and recalls he was playing 1st line minutes, and that's not his role.

Sova assigned to ECHL Reading, so I'm guessing his ECHL rights were traded or something.

I keep hoping every year that the Sharks will bring this back as an alternate sweater.

As those of us that have seen him play over the last couple weeks have hoped, the WorSharks just announced that defenseman Denny Urban has been signed to a SPC for the remainder of the season.
