A New Sport That Is More Popular Than The NHL....

'League of Legends' mimics regular sports....

Teams competing with millions of dollars at stake. Season, playoffs and championship rounds featuring the best of the best in heated tournaments until a winner is crowned. And viewership that trumps the NHL.

Is this serious? Is the NHL really that far down in popularity that watching over weight teenagers playing video games is now more popular than watching some of the best athletes in the world?

That game has a stupid low skill cap. If you're going to watch/play online video games, make it Starcraft 2.

If playing a video game is considered a sport, then so is posting on HF boards.
All you do is click your mouse and use your keyboard while sitting on your ass.

How do you know they're overweight? Way to be judgmental.

That game is horrible. It's all about running from face to face combat and success comes from ganging up and attacking from behind. It essentially encourages being a little ***** boy.

According to Gamespot the peak viewership of the Finals of their tournament (Equivalent of a Stanley Cup Finals) was 1,154,000 world-wide. Opening night of the NHL season this year pulled in over 3 million in Canada alone...

So basically this is just another example of ESPN knowing Hockey.
