Don't worry. Krueger will just dress Potter at center.

Yakupov's batting average now higher than the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Pretty sure Whitney was trash talking Morris there a bit before Morris went off, but still, idiot move by Morris.

The oilers need to find a way to get Yakupov onto the right side. He looks lost on the left during the game, but open up the ice and put him on the right side and he knows exactly where to go.

Good road win, but dull assed game though, geez.

Good job all over. We had problem winning yawner like this against the Coyotes last year.

Glad to see Smid getting back into things after a bad start to the season, and another solid game for Dubnyk.

Am I reading too much into Yak's celebration, or was he standing there waiting for all his teammates because he caught flack for skating by them the last time?

Oh, and this goal was almost identical to that one...

Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So nice to get the 2 points after giving up the late goal.

Huge props to Dubnyk, Petrell, Smyth, Belanger, Horcoff, Paajarvi, Hartikainen tonight. I thought the bottom 2 lines all played really well. Didn't take too many penalties tonight either which was a plus (although I thought tonight we got away with 2-3).

Nice road win. Good job Yak on the OT winner.

PS.....Suck it Morris, real classy there.

I will be at the game tomorrow night!!!! So excited

Interview with Smyth coming up. He'll set the record straight.

'Well, I don't know, Gene, we were just all playing hard and going to the net, and these things happen but we're happy to get the two points'

Missed most of the first and second cause i had some tutoring to do but watched a bit of the second and the third. My thoughts:

-Duby played solid but also gave some pretty big rebounds
-still wondering why potter is in over fistric. he seemed to do almost nothing when i was watching him.
-kid line was dece and had some good opportunities, freaking hall just needs to shoot more and he would have even more points. Ebs was fine and RNH was good at points as well.
-second line seemed okay as well, the real question is, will hemsky ever figure out the offside rule? :p
-other two lines had good games, especially petrell and smyth, who seemed to actually be moving at points in the third.

Happy about the win!!!

PS: YAK CITY

If Whitney told Morris to get the F away from Yak, then great job Ryan

It's such a nice change to see a solid performance from our bottom six. They kept us in this game until our top 6 forwards could capitalize and score a winner.

This is what good teams do. We're almost there.

I remember Derek Morris beating the tar out of our tough guy Marty Reasoner a few years back too. Jumped him and hit him 5 times before Marty even dropped his gloves.

Yeah, I think you are. He scored, his forward momentum took him into the boards, where he turned around and waited for the pile-up. I dont think there was anything else going on there.

Why did Krueger put Potter on in the last minute on a coyote PP? After such a horrible performance throughout the game?
Also, Two powerplays didn't have one shot on net

I know it's early, but the coach is starting to piss me off

Anyway, EXACT same play lol, hall shoots, bounces off goalie, yak bats it mid-air right side. Amazing. GO OIL

He learned his lesson. He could have done more of a celebration but he was waiving them over to him. I loved the original celebration but I also love this thought process by Yakupov on tonight's goal.

Celebration crap is pissing me off. Don't like his celebration? Don't let him score.

I mean come on, you guys are the welfare team of the NHL, and your focus is commenting on a 19 y/o kid's celebration. Get over yourself.

Somehow Whitney and Morris get matching 2 min roughing penalties at the end. I'm not sure what they saw, but it wasn't equal.

Looking forward to the rematches where we aren't missing half of our squad. Hanzal, Sullivan, Smith, Lombardi, Klesla and Torres should probably make a difference.

Hemsky needs to play like that in his own zone more often. He usually plays a very passive style and just gets in shooting lanes. Today he was closing out on guys and forcing turnovers.

That will go a long way to keeping that line afloat in their own end while Yakupov learns the NHL game.

Speaking of Yakupov, he doesn't do much, but he sure seems to know how to score goals.
