no thanks from a Flyers POV

I know Voracek is struggling, but he's young and someone you hold onto when you're in the Flyers position

From a Kings POV, absolutely. No way the Flyers do it though.

Williams is a player that LA needs, an old playoff/Cup vet to push us over the edge. A team guy who re-signed in LA for less and considers himself a King.

Voracek is a young and talented up and coming guy who fits in the age group of Giroux, the Schenns, Couterier and Simmonds.

Both are good fits where they are. Both sides say no, no matter the value.

I was hoping LA had drafted Voracek instead of Hickey back in 2007. Don't see LA moving its core vets but maybe a deal like Voracek and 3rd rd for Bernier and Loktionov?

I don't think Philly may give up this guy they're high on but this looks like a sensible deal for both sides...maybe we take a backup from Philly for a low pick as well.

As for the draft, I'm 100% certain that the 2nd player, the center, that Lombardi was looking at and chose Hickey over was Voracek. If he'd only knew that he would get Doughty the very next year...

value wise i like it but williams is a key part of the chemistry. He was helpful in getting richards settled in Also he was a big part of gagne signing here. However if you bring this up next year at the deadline I think the kings would be all over it.

i see williams as a valuable addition two time cup winner and playoff veteran who is familiar with laviolettes style and system. a good guy for a very young team. he would however be a downgrade from a very promising young player who cant seem to find his niche in a crowded flyer forward group. i think the guy voracek would have meshed with best ironicly is the one he was traded for, jeff carter.

i as a philly fan would do the move because of what williams brings to the table and the addition of williams makes vorcek sort of redundant in the lineup. so how to balance these things out w/ shifting away from these two as the centerpices got me muddled

voacek, 2nd for williams and bernier seems too far off but im not familiar enough with la to go anywhere else

That deal seems fair. Personally I think Lombardi tries to move Bernier to CLB at the draft in return for their 2013 1st rd pick. Even if its 30th overall again!

Williams is a veteran and a playoff performer. He produces fine offensively and is very good at defending his own zone. There is no way Lombardi would consider giving him up, we signed him to a good and long contract to solidify our top line. He works well with Kopitar also. Given his importance to the team, his history with winning, and his presence in the locker room, LA wouldn't be looking to part with him.

Williams looks like he's skating with bricks on this year...he's slowed down quite a bit. I love the guy, he's a good player, great interview (rare on the Kings) and I'm not ashamed to say it, he's handsome as hell...but I'd take voracek for him in a heartbeat

It'd be a Flyer for Flyer swap, your quota would stay the same!

He started slow last year too. He worked out just fine.

Williams stays a King.

Justin is a good player, but the Flyers are going to be patient with this young group and build around it for the future. I have talked to Justin around here a few times and he really likes the area and it would be nice to see him finish out his career here. But not at the expense of Jake. Flyers pass.

Not sure the Kings would be interested in trading the guy who has more chemistry with Kopitar than anyone else

speak for yourself. As a kings fan I would do this is a heartbeat. As a flyers fan I wouldn't. And since these are my two favorite teams I can say that

glad I ain't alone on that. I was always a huge fan of him as a Flyer, and I got to meet him when he was, and I am also not ashamed to say that that's a handsome *******. Friendly dude too.
