I think a concussion is a good guess with the evaluation taking this long and all, if it was his back cant they know immediately how severe is the injury by simply a scan? And they said he didnt even know he had it until he came to the rink the day after, sounds alot like concussion.

If it were a concussion they would say flu like symptoms, sore neck, wisdom teeth out, sore throat, etc.

I doubt he would have bothered to go out of town to see another doctor for a concussion. Ottawa has some pretty prominent Neurologists working at TOH and UOttawa.

They're probably just being cautious since its most likely his back. If he played with it on Sunday and barely noticed it after the game until practice the next morning, its probably nothing to get worked up over. They're preventing it from snowballing into what everyone is speculating.

That really doesn't sound good. I thought it was just a simple upper injury.

Guys don't worry. He's just holding a media session to inform everyone that Spezza's back was sore from carrying this team on his back. He'll be fine in a couple days because Karlsson has taken it on for him.

Press conference for an update? He'll be out a month at least, I bet.

****. Our centre depth isn't that great and I can't see Murray making any drastic moves. Hopefully Anderson can carry us to the playoffs.

Obviously we're trading Spezza for Orly.

Can't be good news if it requires a press conference.

I think a lot of us assumed it was a simple injury considering he was day-to-day.

How is someone saying that "trolling"?

I'm scared to hear Murray now. Was fully expecting this to be a day-to-day thing but now I'm bracing myself to hear a few weeks or a month.

And Spezz was in great playing shape from being over in Switzerland and the Spengler.

This can be quite the buzz kill to the hot start

Obviously this is going into the medium-longer term realm to warrant a presser. Not good regardless.

#Senators expected 2 announce Jason Spezza will undergo surgical procedure on his back. Club doesn't considered this major surgery I'm told.

Surgery of ANY kind is just awful news. Hearing he's out minimum of a month, but could be looking at early March.

This hurts any way to put it. Yeah, Turris will step up and Zibby has been solid so far but this is just brutal luck for Spezz and the Sens.

Other than possibly Getzlaf, who would command a ransom by trade, who else is out there that can play top 6 minutes and not cost us a Stone, Noesen, 1st type of return.

Can Zibanejad really do the job long term. The team IS trying to give him some confidence (1st star, 2nd star, etc). Would DaCosta get a shot at a 2C or 4C slot?
