Seriously now.

Can we really keeping waiting on the Stastny trade? He is dropping in trade value by every game. I know we must have O'Reilly signed before we really can do anything but if we want at least a half decent return for Stastny we have to act now.

What can he do? Everyone outside Duchene, Varly and EJ and Landeskog are worthless. I know this is nuts to many of you but I would trade Landeskog since I'm not that confident in his talent, but other than that literally insane move I see nothing Sherman can do. Stastny is worth a bag of pucks.

The highlights of the game for me were McLeod getting cut open with a high stick and he gets called for an unsportsmanlike conduct and the Ballard dive when Stastny hooked him.

Doesn't seem like the refs know what they're doing some times. How do I apply!?

Can you elaborate on Sherman? He looked bored you say?

We actually didn't play that bad the majority of the game.. we didn't get a LOT of glorious chances but when we did Lu stood tall. Varly letting in those softies really killed any momentum we had going.. but it just seems like it's been a Murphy's Law start to the season for the Avs. Can't get much worse, right?

Didn't think Stastny was that bad tonight but still nothing on the scoresheet. Him and Duchene have to produce with O'Reilly and Landeskog out of the line up.

Geez I wish I had a job like Saccos. Get paid big bucks to sit on your ass and look dumb/confused as hell.

What exactly has Sacco done to keep his job? He rode an incredibly hot Craig Anderson into the 8th seed his rookie season, but since then it's pretty much been all down hill.

Even those of us who have never been nor never will be involved with hockey at the NHL level can see the dumb mistakes he makes (i.e. putting Hunwick or Barrie on the PK, poor line juggling/management, moving players like Duchene out of position to a left or right wing, no clear break-out, terrible special teams set-ups, etc.).

It truly baffles me that he still has his job here. And I would bet we would be a much, much better team with a head coach who actually has had some previous NHL head coaching experience.
once again it can never be said enough

Hopefully he finds a team that will take a package deal of Jones and Stastny. I actually think that Stastny is still a very good player, and that he'll start putting it together again away from Sacco. However, I also think that, at this point he'd be a greater asset as trade bait especially since they seem intent on giving Sacco a free pass.

He was resting his chin on his fist. Not much more to that.

Sacco on the other hand had that stupid smirk on his face.

I don't understand statements like these. How bad can an NHL team play, exactly? The score wasn't 10-0 but we look like an AHL squad out there. Absolutely no sustained pressure.

He didn't even move. He was holding his hands together and leaning on them like a 6th grader in history class. His cheeks were rosey red. I wouldn't say he looked pissed, per se. But he didn't look happy.

I can't believe Sakic hasn't been like "hey guys, Sacco is a bum." Feel like they'd listen to Sakic.

He had his hands on his face and I guess you could say he looked bored or a bit depressed. Definitely wasn't happy or enjoying himself.

having him in the lineup would help
Overpaying to have him in the lineup would not

Sacco had a "are you kidding me?" look on his face whenever something went wrong.

Luongo got the 1st star but did he have to do anything tonight? I would've given it to Kassian, dominated us physically.

I don't expect much, Matt Duchene is literally our only top 6 forward atm.

Jones and Mitchell were brutal today. They couldn't pass and receive the puck. What is Stastny supposed to do? He's not the kind of guy that can produce on his own. He tried to shoot and go for rebounds but he needs players that can give and go. I think Landeskog would be a great fit for Stastny.
