painful match, both sides lacked quality...if this was the legit US team they would struggle to qualify for the WC

Terrible...I wasn't even gonna watch the game and figured hell why not.

Worst decision of my life.

I didn't watch it because I expected it to be bad, so I'm not surprised it was. I was gonna say this before the game but I forgot; I'm legitimately worried about qualifying.

to be honest most of the January friendly games are complete borefests, last year was Venezuela (I think?) where USA won 1:0 on some scrappy set piece in the final minute

It would have been a better test to play that Danish domestic league team which is playing Mexico tomorrow and who beat Canada 4:0. MLSNT was basically playing a team which bunkered and you can't even judge the defenders in this type of match

Tonight should have put the end to the Wondolowski debate. Absolutely not int'l quality.

I have to say I was disappointed with the performance of squad. With three weeks of training the performance should have been sharper and the players should have been a little more on the same page. The best passes IMO came from Besler and Gonzalez out of the back on long balls. There was way too much passing backwards to retain possession. No one really seemed to want to be aggressive in attacking.

There are only a few players that I think earned spots on the plane ride to Honduras.

Johnson had a solid performance, good reflexes, solid positioning, communication could have been better, but other than that I think he had one of the better performances of a keeper not named Howard in the last few years.

Gonzalez and Besler really weren't challenged too much and I'd like to see a little more of them. They were solid when called upon and Gonzalez was dangerous on set pieces. I'd like to see them again.

Gatt definitely added some speed, flair, and danger out on the wing. I'd like to see what he could do with a solid back behind him and some better attackers around him. I have to see he seems like a real dick though. He whined a ton, yelled at his own team mates and seems a little like a primadonna.

Zusi and Beckerman, as much as I hate Beckerman being a somewhat regular with the A squad, showed why they play with that squad regularly and why the rest are considered B squaders.

I'd also like to see Morales get another game, he played some dangerous balls, just a little long that I think could/would have been better if he'd had been in the game longer and gotten into a better grove, and I'd also like to cap tie him before he decides to try to play for Peru or Germany, although I doubt Germany will come calling.

I agree Wondolowski needs to be done. He's had his chances hasn't been able to cash in. I will say that he looked better than Johnson did and I'm wondering if Johnson didn't luck out with his goals last fall. I would have liked to have seen Agudelo and Bruin brought on earlier.

The only thing with Eddie is that Jurgen seems to like him on the wing, where he showed well against Antigua and Guatemala. As a striker, I agree, I saw a lot of 2007-2009 E.J. out there last night, but as a winger, I think he can still make an impact.

Why did Mexico not play their match in...Mexico? Are they the only team that plays friendlies as the home team on some other country's turf?

Many teams do, but they do it the most. The reason why is simple, they can't charge near as much for tickets in Mexico as they can here.

That and outside of Mexico City they don't draw near the same crowd they can in the US. Which is so iconic it gives me a headache.

I was at the Coyotes game while the Mexico game was going on. How full was the stadium? It took me forever to get out of the parking lot tonight.

Forty thousand something I think they said. USA/Mexico drew sixty thousand there.

AP says 43,345.

Mexico makes more money playing in the US, they can easily sell minimum 40-50K tickets even with a "B" team playing. I remember last summer they drew that much to play a Welsh B team

Haven't heard anything here in the Netherlands about potential moves for Altidore. I think AZ would be happy to keep him another year.

Bad news as Stuart Holden was on the wrong end of another harsh tackle, and forced to leave a reserve team game today
Wow. Stu has no luck.

So far it looks like E.J., Evans, Davis and Besler are in for Honduras.

Well, now is Jozy's time to finally show some consistency for us. Hope he shows the fire he's exhibited for his club team. I think if we can get him going we should be alright. Three of first four on road sucks but could be a huge momentum boost if we play well. Hoping Landon returns for March 22nd game.

Looks like we're playing a 4-1-3-2.

Howard
Chandler - Cameron - Bocanegra - F. Johnson
Williams
Zusi - Bradley - Jones
Gomez - Dempsey
