Betting against your team

For the first time in my life I've bet against the oilers. Has anyone else fine the same and what do you have to profit to justify betting against your interests?

When I think the Oilers will lose I just refrain from betting. I will never EVER bet against Oilers. Nothing against people who do, just a personal vow.

EDIT: For the record, I rarely bet at all though, so I guess this post is fairly moot.

I've won a few hundred dollars these last two seasons betting with relatives who were sure we'd make the playoffs. I don't mind taking their money, which paid for part of my DSLR camera.,

In general I won't bet against the Oilers unless it is a close to guaranteed loss. I don't bet enough to actually cheer against them, but I'll gladly make some cash if they lose.

I dunno, call me crazy but sometimes Ill bet against my favourite team in a big game.

If they lose, I win money and the money helps me get over the loss of my team
If they win, I lose some money but am very happy my team one

Bet with your brain, not your heart.

I was gonna say I just won money in "props" tonight betting Nuge and Vrbata were going to tie...but apparently they changed the assist on Phoenix's ********* goal that should have never happened to include Vrbata so I'm now upset at hoping Nuge didn't score in OT lol.

If you've placed any bets in the last 4 years, and this is the first time you've ever bet against the Oilers... I recommend you give up betting altogether.

same for me. I don't bet a lot, but I refrain from betting against an edmonton team. doesn't seem right.

It's good way to hedge against the disappointment of a loss. That said, I can't bring myself to do it.

It's nice because it turns the situation into a win/win.

i dont in hockey or football for 2 reasons, its hard not to bet with your heart and second, i have picked the oilers to lose games they end up winning and games i think they are going to win/cover they get smoked.

the only time i bet now on the oilers is when they are playing a buds fav team, head to head, never on sport select

If you do bet against the Oilers though, then you're happy no matter what happens in the game.

One way to look at it, anyway.

Or maybe you rarely bet because you rarely think the Oilers will win?
