Nice timing. Jeremy London got arrested for all sorts of ****** baggery last night.
"Dazed & Confused" actor Jason London was punched in an Arizona bar fight, arrested, put in the back of a cop car where he proceeded to allegedly poop his pants and say the craziest things ever ("Your breath smells like diarrhea"), and then took the world's greatest mug shot.
Kid is here to stay. Has surpassed my expectations so far and seems able to handle the physical side of the game much better than Granlund has. Then again, Granlund is naturally going to get hit more being a forward and not a d-man but the point still stands.
I posted in the jersey thread a couple months ago that I was going to get a Suter jersey this year and a Brodin in a year or two when he's settled in and playing at a high level. Looks like I underestimated the guy.
I'd be wary getting a Brodin jersey myself. I just get a nagging feeling that the #25 is a gateway number to his #5. Or if that is the case, the #25 may become collectors item after he wins his 8 Norris trophies, five Stanley Cups, saves an orphanage from space Nazis and is crowned King of Sweden.
His natural intincts are phenomenal. Much like those of Lidstrom and Suter. You just don't see guys making plays like he makes, seemingly simple, but making smart decisions time after time as rookies. You see guys who are ultra talented offenive defensemen from time to time like a Housley or Coffey who take the league by storm, but to play with such smarts and fundamentals on the defensive end like he does is even more remarkable IMO. In my 30+ years of watching hockey, I'm not sure I've seen a young rookie D-man play as smart a game as he's playing. Granted he's plated in an elite Swedish league, but he's still just 19. Incredible.
