Come on, man.

Anyway, back to Rielly. I think he'll see a game or two with the Leafs by the end of the year. Likely end up on the Marlies to help them in the playoffs.
I may be wrong but I would believe that he is talking about the NHL.....he was never allowed to play in a position to succeed at Center.

Agreed, the Marlies did wonders for Kadri. Nice to see a prospect develop correctly. No reason to think it won't help Rielly, it certainly won't hurt.

only when carlyle took over, he started playing his position.
carlyle told eakins where he wanted him to play.
if the season had started in oct. he would be up with leafs at center.

Agreed. Unless you think Kadri hasn't looked very good I don't see how this can be viewed any other way.

I was hoping Rielly would hover around a PPG with Moose Jaw after his NHL training camp concluded. Doesn't appear to be the case. Would be nice to see him pick it up to finish the season.

In fairness the team he plays on is terrible.

He will, and besides he was a little on the disappointed side that he did not stick as his play showed he should have been there.....contracts and waivers made that impossible.

To be fair, Moose Jaw is an awful, awful team, and is only remotely competitive because of Rielly.

It's conceivable he's concentrating more on his defensive play. I'm speculating but I wouldn't be surprised if the Leafs sent him to Moose Jaw with the task of improving defensively

What's better for Rielly, getting traded to a Memorial Cup contender or graduating to the AHL playoffs this spring?

definitely the memorial cup, he will be misused on the Marlies regardless of his talent this year if he came up for playoffs.

Mem cup. Arguably the hardest trophy to earn in sports. A true testament to those on a team that wins it. Especially if your an integral piece.

Marlies for me.

The current Marlies depth chart is:
Gardiner -- Holzer
Gysbers -- Yeo
Blacker -- Mottau

Of course by time March rolls around id expect Gardiner to be up with the Leafs. A guy like Fraser could be back down, but there is also a possibility of a trade

AHL.

He'll more than likely get a few regular season games as well. Gardiner got 10 games in at the end of the 10/11 season and I think pushed his development up quite bit.

Pretty much what I see. Our Marlies are looking for a good run and it's best he sticks it with them than a Memorial Cup.

Is there any way he can get traded to a contender? I could have sworn the deadline passed.

I guess it's just a hypothetical question, either way AHL for me.

Nice. I was so glad he fell to #5. Kinda surprised Rienhart was picked ahead of him.

The deadline has past and he's likely going to play his last Junior game on March 16th and his first pro game could likely be on the 19th against Lake Erie. If he does get in that game he could play in as many as 16 games before the playoffs, Which could be a huge benefit to him going forward.

Same goes for Percy possibly joining a week or 10 after.

A bit like Lightning picking up Brett Connolly with their 6th overall picks even do he was injured for most parts of his draft year. I guess that injuries does not affect draft position that much if what the player rely heavily on is above the shoulders.

Does anyone think Eakins is praying that the Moosejaw Warriors make the play-offs? Really though they are not a good team, and won't make them. So in march Rielly's career as a Leaf officially begins. Thats something i will be looking forward to.

A good play-off run,and half to full season with Eakins will work wonders for him.
