I was saying similar on the FB group I am an Ottawa Senators fan during his rookie season. Everybody was on my case about Karlsson. But you would have to be blind to not see his ability.

karlsson is trailing two montreal canadiens in points, and neither is PK subban (aka future norris winner).

I think it's clear that karlsson has peaked.

It's very invigorating to see the TOI leaders among defenseman, and look at the ES, PK, and PP time of the usual top Defenders. There goes that argument among Karlsson detractors.

lol, he plays more PK minutes than Weber. By quite a far margin too.

Well Nashville has 28 minors while the Sens have 40, but the point stands.

It says a lot about a player when you are almost disappointed with him for only getting one point and thus "only" keeping his ppg-pace.

Too bad Spezza is out 2 months, we don't have enough of an offence around him to lead him to another domination in points among defencemen.

He's finally getting his props from the major media, who are now watching him with a magnifying glass.

He does so many ridiculous things out there to help his team, and they are starting to realize what a weapon he is on defence as well as on offence.

Its really amazing how Karlsson just slows down the pace of the game when and creates so much space.

Absolutely amazing. 1 point but if 3rd assists count he would have had 3. He absolutely dominated defensively. Destroyed em.
Does anyone else get upset when people pass after Karlsson has set them up, stop stealing his points! It's sad, buy I am dissappoint when he only picks up a ppg.

Yeah, but worse is when someone takes a penalty just as EK is getting ready to fire his slapper from the blueline, I'm like "FFFFFUUUUUUUUU!!!" irl every time.

Points are nothing, as long as he's shooting and playing the way he does. The defender shoots from furthest out, expecting more than a ppg is going to leave you disappointed.

He's going to have a bigger load to carry now that Spezza is out long term. Hopefully he's up to the task. It's one thing to be as dominant as he has been when he also has one of the top forwards in the league helping him -- now it's pretty much all up to him to carry this team.

i watch streams only, most of the time is a feed from the opposite team.... the hate Karlsson gets around here is all about being Jelly. Commentators, Analysts they all are in love with Karlsson. They keep talking about him and showing hi-lites of him, owning their own team.
They pimp his offensive talent but they like to remind fans how amazing he is in his position.

Im glad hes earning the respect he deserves. obviously as a fan we can overrate him, but hes that damn good.

It's not about jealousy, it's just not watching him play. It's hard to believe he's as good as he is without watching. He would be benched for half the moves he tries to do, but doesn't because he finishes those moves.

I would like a highlite package of Karlsson's breakout passes. Freakin' incredible. There is as much creativity, skill and execution in those as in the offensive part of his game. So many times he does something you don't expect, or 90% of D would not do.

I really think this team is going to be solidly in a playoff spot even without Spezza. With that said the door is open to Karlsson and maybe even Anderson to have a huge run for the Hart Trophy. With Spezza out, if the Senators are a strong team all season both of them will look so invaluable.

From last night.

Down Goes Brown ‏@DownGoesBrown
Remember in old video games how you just had to tap “pass” to make the puck go to anyone you wanted? Erik Karlsson still has that mode.

Agreed. The guy can dominate games on his own.

Umm 2 wins in 2 games without Spezza. I think the team is doing ok.

i love this. Everyone in the hockey world is watching him trying to find something wrong, and they come away just raving about him.
