They should just go with plaid and become the Seattle Lumberjacks.

Using the grey instead of white would be cool. Like how the Coyotes use "sand color" rather than white as well.

Agree that primary of blue with green/white accents while would blend with all other local teams would not work well in account of the Canucks. However the primary green with blue/white accents would work well. Maybe a cross between the Whalers and NorthStars jerseys.

How does Oregon get tagged with neon green when the Seattle Flounders wear that nuclear mold?

The thing about what U of Oregon does with green is to push it ever closer to black... which is an Oregon State U color. As a Duck, well, Phil Knight runs the shop and makes it his laboratory.

BTW, I will concur on the gray/grey idea (however you want to spell it). I'd think most designers probably see it as a secondary color, but I wonder if there's something else to be pulled from Oregon... the sometimes use of "carbon." http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_Wz8tMG0snZ...Uniforms-2.jpg

The Sounders could immolate themselves at the Space Needle for all I care about them (that's about the only thing that could get me to watch them) Seriously though, I hate neon colors in sports unis. It looks tacky as hell and hurts the eyes.

why does, NIKE, an Oregon based company, pay Oregon to get their logos, etc and gets a set fee for producing those uniforms.

Don't know, don't care, wish Nike would eff off and die with their awful uniform designs.

Seriously though, there's been a trend in sports uniforms that started in the late '90s that features dark drab colors on one hand, and neon colors on the other hand. I really hate it. I think it looks awful, and it makes me wonder when ugly became the "in" fashion. Hell, the Seahawks went from having the best uniforms in the NFL to the absolute worst. Gag.

Saw this

http://aol.sportingnews.com/nhl/stor...-sacramento-ki

Hansen hopes to have permitting process done April or may, EIS done this summer and shovel in ground by 4th qtr 2013. Arena to be ready by start of 2015-2016 season.

“@ChrisDaniels5: ...that may be a moot issue. NBA Owners can vote on major transactions via email. Don't need to meet in person. #NBASeattle #NBAKings”

That tweet based on the rumblings when owners will/can vote on sale

Taking everything else into consideration (arena lawsuits, new bidders, other legal and NBA issues, etc.), this Friday (Feb. 1) is the final date for the Hansen/Ballmer group to deposit a $30 million, non-refundable deposit to the Maloofs for the purchase of the Sacramento Kings.

In arena news, from the Puget Sound Business Journal:

Quote:
Seattle’s Downtown Design Review Board is tentatively scheduled to re-examine the proposal for the NBA/NHL arena in Sodo on March 5.

It will be the fourth “early design guidance” meeting for the $490 million project that hedge-fund manager Chris Hansen is proposing.

An NHL team and an NBA team sharing an arena?
What a concept!

Interesting that the writer did not write about the NHL/NBA teams that do or will share a venue:

-New York/Manhattan (Madison Square Garden)
-Boston (TD Garden)
-Chicago (United Center)
-Los Angeles (Staples Center)
-Denver (Pepsi Center)
-Washington, D.C. (Verizon Center)
-Philadelphia (Wells Fargo Center)
-Dallas (American Airlines Arena)
-Toronto (Air Canada Centre)

In 2015:
-Brooklyn (Barclays Center)

Then again, one can only say so much on Twitter.

Seattle is a proven sports market while Phoenix has traditionally been an indifferent one. Even the NFL of all people have historically had trouble putting butts in the seats in Phoenix.

It's Seattle Totems Hockey time!

http://www.seattletotems.org/stht.mp3

Maybe we can see some of this in the future:

I'd like to see the new franchise use green and white as their primary colors, with blue or black accents. A revival/modernization of the Totems logo would be a must, in my opinion.

Gotta show love to the metropolitans.

That needs to be the winter classic Jerseys.

EDIT: If you use that name, then you already have a cup. More cups then Vancouver is good.

I think he isn't talking about 2 teams sharing arena but that the Seattle sports dollar would have another team to split the fans money with.

NFL - Seahawks
MLB - Mariners
NCAA - UW Huskies (football, basketball, etc)
MLS- Sounders
WNBA - Storm
Women's Soccer - Reign
NCAABB - Seattle Redhawks
NBA - Team X
NHL - Team Y
WHL - Thunderbirds & Silvertips
NLL - Stealth
LFL - Mist
NCAA - Wazzu & Gonzaga on occasion.
etc...

I was in Glendale last weekend. It is in the middle of no where and 20-30 mins from downtown Phoenix on good traffic. That area has 2 sports arenas, 20 restaurants, 3 hotels and a huge movie theater and that's it. The Seattle sports district is in the downtown area, at the hub of all transportation devices and established.

I predict two new teams announced by 2015.

One in Seattle, another one in Ontario.

Do these even count? Wazzu and Gonzaga are on the other side of the state and maybe play a few games a year at Key Arena at most. The Stealth draw under 4,000. WHL would be for hockey fans who can't afford NHL prices. The Reign play in a stadium that seats 4,500 and I doubt they're going to charge a lot for tickets. The Redhawks average less than 3,000 a game. The WNBA, ehh they average what 9,000 a game and pretty much every seat is under $50 and they're the biggest threat of those listed. I won't even get into the LFL.

If a person has $1000 to spend on sports entertainment and 1 NHL game is $100 or a 5 WHL games is $100, it is competition. Yes they all draw to different demographics but there is overlap. The last bunch were a stretch but just listing what all is in town. The LFL team seemed to draw more than the T-birds but they only had like 2 games per year.
