Thought I'd add a bit from "around the World of hockey."
I'm a massive Nottingham Panthers fan (EIHL). I don't have a season ticket but go to around 12-15 of their 20 odd home games. We played our local rivals (second biggest rivals behind Sheffield Steelers) the Coventry Blaze last night.
We dominated the 1st but it ended 0-0. Blaze's netminder was on fire. Our net minder made an awful mistake behind the net gifting the Blaze a 1-0 lead early in the 2nd. We then miss 2 near open goals, the Blaze break away and make it 2-0 mid way through the 2nd. I really thought it was going to be one of those games... Until the last 5 or so minutes of the 2nd. We score 3 quick goals to make 3-2. Firing on all cylinders in the 3rd we score 5 more, Blaze just 1 so it finishes 8-3 Cracking game and we extend our lead at the top of the table to 4 points.
Before the game...
After the game...
A Panthers ritual where they salute the fans after every game...
As there are a couple of Nottingham Panthers fans on the Lightning board, you're all honorary Panthers fans There is, of course, only one relevant Panthers ice hockey team in the World.
Over 1,003 games, Lecavalier has 848 points, a Maurice ‘Rocket’ Richard award for leading the NHL in goals in a season, four All-Star Game selections and a Stanley Cup, that coming in 2004, after a hard-fought series against Calgary.
"I guess what I am most proud of, at least at this point in time, is the way the organization rebounded from some tough times in the late 1990s and early 2000s, and we stuck together through it all," offered Lecavalier. "To see the team succeed after that, to see the fans embrace the organization, it's something that really meant a lot to be part of."
I don't know what is, or isn't hockey, being from Florida but I do think parody accounts are cheap in the way that they seem to get easy followers and media coverage.
In the 1970s the Detroit Red Wings also briefly had a mascot named The Winger. The Detroit Red Wings mascot "The Winger" appeared when Mike Ilitch bought the team in 1982 and continued mascoting until the end of the 1987 season, not in the late 70's like the previous sentence stated
pretty interisting offer that Burke speaks about, we got from Vancouver ( 2nd overall for Biegsa, Burrows and the 22th overall) what do you think about this offer now? Would you have done it on draft day?
