The Canucks will most likely be looking to move Ballard in the off-season to free up cap space.
Edler was just given a raise, and guys like Higgins, Lapierre, Tanev, and Raymond will also be looking for raises.

We cant afford Robidas and Fiddler at all.

And like I said, it's not a trade the Canucks would even consider right now. Ballard is playing great, Robidas not so much...

so if we remove Tangradi and the 5th, you'll still do it for Ryder? He said, eagerly, as if posts on this board had any affect on reality.

My favourite Vern Fiddler memory.

-------------------------

Had this idea come up last year. would've been all over it. Amazingly, Ballard's suddenly become a defenseman lately. Value's definitely there for the Canucks, but until our alleged top 4 D actually start playing like top 4 D, I'd much rather keep Ballard.

Yeah, Daley should be on the 2nd pairing, replacing Goligoski.

Goligoski definitely shouldn't be on the top pairing considering he's awful.

Don't put too much stock into those pairings.

Actually a pretty good deal for the Pens. This Teddy guy seems like he's going to be legit. But Ryder has been steady his whole career and underrated. I'd just would personally see a trade just for Ryder. Our third line is pretty dominant when the Cooke-Sutter-Kennedy combo is actually kept together. Unless Morrow could find a place with Geno and Neal.

Value wise the Van deal is't bad. But Vancouver doesn't make this trade in real life, Ballard and Tanev have been are best paring this year. I would probably do something like this in the summer.

Ryder isn't steady. He could be a 30-goal scorer, 60-point guy one year and then fall off to 15-goals and 30-points the next. It depends on which Michael Ryder you are getting.

I like the Vancouver deal. I think that could work for both teams, but probably after the season is over.

Sheesh that Pens trade is terrible though. I know Morrow hasn't got much value but Ryder alone is worth more than that proposal.

It would have to be closer to the deadline, but I'd be just fine with Theodor Bleuger and the 2013 Pittsburgh 2nd round pick for Ryder.

Trading Ryder represents waiving the white flag, and that doesn't come easy for GMJN.

I do believe Morrow is probably available right now.

That doesn't mean trading him is the solution. He's not a #1 because he's handsome and a good samaritan. He's #1 because the Stars have no defensive depth.

Agree on Morrow. Would be happy to let him go now.

I think Ryder could get a better return, especially close to the deadline. A complementary goal-scoring winger is an asset and a number of teams might overpay to add him.

The Vancouver deal doesn't really work for the Canucks even after the season is over. Ballard will likely be traded, but only because we can't afford him. I doubt we'll be able to afford Robidas on or bottom pairing either do I don't see this working.

He's a #1 because the coach is an idiot. Larsen and Daley are better.

not bad from a Canucks perspective, just would need to know the cap situation of Robidas and Fiddler to ensure we can get in the raises necessary to stay under the cap next year

He's #1 because our coach doesn't have the guts to drop him down the depth chart.

He's been bad. One of the biggest problems has been that he's been stuck with Robidas as his partner. Give him a solid defense first type of player and he'll do much better.

Dallas has the worst coach in the league. We will also have the most trade assets at the deadline if Newy has the balls to pull the trigger which I doubt. Ryder, Jagr Robidas Morrow Fiddler Roy long list---Problem starts at the top. Newy is the guy who traded neal+++Nisky for Gogo and seemingly never shopped Neal. He has hired crawford and Gully. he has given 2 year contracts to barch and Rome -he sucks

Think of any undersized offensive d-man like Marc-andre bergeron and you got Gogo-No way should of done the Neal deal without letang. Said it then said it now-

This was really the funny thing to me. Not so much pencilling Morrow into the top6, you could give that a shot, but again trading with Dallas for a real top6 winger and agan giving him to Malkin. WTF?

That what I am hearing is that what you really want is our coach.
