I think Elliott needs to be brought up. He proved last year that he can put up some points in the NHL and can move the puck. Now he can't play defense worth a lick, but pair him with Hejda and you might have have minor success.
Elliott has been a scratch in Lake Erie lately. No idea if it's an injury or because he has played poorly. He's not close to being NHL ready imo. He needs to figure out how to play to his strengths and also become stronger defensively. It's better he do that in AHL than NHL.

The latter. I'm not sure Elliott isn't the type of player that his skills are just better used at the NHL level. In other words, he needs to be surrounded by higher skill level players to play his game effectively. Shattenkirk was much the same way.

Think Elliott and Siemens will still have chemistry next year? They could be a great pairing again.
Yeah hopefully Elliot can put it back together. By looking at his stats so far with Lake Erie, he is my biggest disappoitement (prospect wise). He should be pilling up points by now....
Its a slow transition, but one in works. It will take sometime for me to get attached to another team like I did to Avs, but It will happen sooner or later.
The Avs havent given me (a long time fan of theirs) a reason to stick around and continue cheering for them the way they're running this organization in the last hand full of years.
They will lose more fans soon anyway not just me, if they haven't already.

In the LEM thread I believe it was brought up he has unknown family issues? Or something personal, it wasn't injury or poor play iirc.
And frankly, I could care less about Elliott's defensive game. We don't need a defensively responsible player, we need someone with hands and creativity offensively. Something he had in spades last year and I think paired with EJ and on the left side (opens up a lot of space for his wrister) he would be absolutely deadly.
Who cares if EJ has to cover up for him? He's doing that already for everyone else, at least Elliott could keep up with EJ.
Otherwise I want Barrie in that spot, but I don't see him as capable of transitioning as easily as Elliott could.

I agree completely. His skills at the NHL level were apparent, Barrie has been exactly as I predicted. He's so talented but unwilling or unable to use his offensive skills, defensively he's just not capable of making the plays his IQ tells him to.

Nah, he just needs better forwards to pass too. Look at Barrie he was putting up numbers in the A gets called up the show and has been a liability in all 3 zones. Atleast when Elliott was here he put up numbers just sucked in his own end.

K fair enough, let`s bring him up then and see what he can do.
So, I'm still not sure if I should get up at 3 am for today's game. I don't want to watch such a poor game again. But I have the feeling that IF they get the first goal and it starts clicking, it might be a fun game.

Our boys will probably play just as poorly.
But the Flames will also play poorly.
So it'll look like a closer game, and could be more entertaining...
...until the guys deflate and lose any semblance of confidence.
