I don't think Johnston has the talent to be what you think he can be. How is that crap? Am I not allowed to disagree with you?

At least post something logical, thoughtful and insightful if you disagree. Start with a reason why not and a bit of an explaination.

Hartman is a fantastic skater, has slick hands, and is a very crafty offensive player. For some reason people think he's strictly a checking forward, when that's not true at all. He's a offensive player, has a strong defensive game, and is already one of the best penalty killers in the OHL. He hits like a truck and is consistently physical.

He's a top 30 talent in this draft. Does that mean he will go there? No. His only question mark is size, and personally I think his combination of skill and tenacity more than make up for it.
Sounds a lot like Brown or Morrow(before last yaer).

You should always have eyes. I just don't have much confidence in their ability to develop him if he comes over. Lefebvre doesn't seem to have a good idea of what he's doing.

What I've seen from Hartman says to me that despite his "slick hands" that you say he has (I don't think they're special beyond the CHL) I don't think he has the offensive IQ to be a productive forward in the NHL. He has all the tools to be a servicable 3rd line player who can pitch in some points but that's not what I'm targeting in the 2013 1st round. We tried that with Louis Leblanc.

If we do draft him, and I hope we do, I bet he would stay in the KHL. And I have no problem with that. Because, as you say, **** that Lefebvre guy.

I also think there's something to the whole "Russians should develop in Russia" concept.

Fair enough. I disagree completely (I think his offensive IQ is one of his best assets), but I understand your reasoning.

But I think a guy like Nastasiuk could be available later and could eventually provide the same game, although he might not be as fast as Hartman.
I've been a big fan of him for while now. He's as safe as anyone from this draft class to make the NHL. Every time I look at a list it seems like he just keeps rising. He can do it all and he brings 110% every game. He hits hard and clean, he blocks shots, and he creates space. He can dominate games down low and along the boards (as he did in Barrie the other day). He's a rare breed of player. I question his upside, but his confidence just keeps growing and he certainly has some good tools to work with offensively.

I must commend you for reasonably discussing prospects. Most people fly off the handle when someone disagrees with their assessment.

I hate seeing Wennberg rise so much. His speed would be delicious on the Habs, AND he can play LW. Plus, unlike most other speedsters, he's not a dreaded "smurf"

I thought he was 6', and as we know that extra inch makes you not a smurf.

It says 6'1" on TSN, however...that has a tendency to change come draft day.

Wennberg is 186 cm (6'1.23) according to Swehockey, these measurements are usually very accurate.

how much younger is wennberg compared to collberg? I really came out impressed with wennberg at the wjc. Definitely a guy I would like to pick up depending where we draft.

Zykov might be an interesting selection as well.

Definitely think Carrier is worth the gamble in the 2nd round.

Wennberg is only 7 months younger than Collberg, which makes him one of the oldest players available in the 2013 draft.

As of today the CGY 2nd rounder would be 32nd overall. NSH pick would be 42nd overall.

The way he is scoring lately, I can't see Zykov sliding out of the 1st round.

In 12 January games 10-16-26.

Especially if they decide to rebuild this year.
