Hoping the Rangers could snag Boychuk for a little more depth. At worst, he ends up in Hartford.
It's unlikely he would end up in Hartford (or any minor league affiliate) since he would have to be re-waived and the Hurricanes would have automatic first right of refusal to him. He was having a big season for the Charlotte Checkers and would most likely end up back there.
It's not impossible that all those things happen, but it would seem kind of a waste to clear a contract and bring a guy into the organization just to ship him back out.
If anyone claims him, it'll likely be a team with an open spot on their 23-man roster and a really serious lack of wing talent.

dude the Rangers are playing Mike Rupp on their third line wing
I don't know that they'll actually claim him, if he even lasts that long, but ******* the Rangers could use some help at the moment, especially with Callahan out for 2 weeks

Agree with the Avs needing to pick him up. Even if Radar gets signed, We have Scarbossa and Bords who can go back to LEM to get some playing time while getting ready for making the roster next year.
Mike Brown's out for a week, he'll probably get some of his ice-time and see if he can contribute more than Orr does.
It just creates some competition for the fourth line as well as depth. Orr and Brown can't fight every day so two of McLaren/Orr/Brown will be playing every night. I love it. We'll always have a tough fourth line.
What's weird is I thought Hamilton had already been called up for this game, and thought he was taking Brown's spot.
So either McLaren won't be ready tonight and will start on Saturday (which is likely frankly), or some one else is coming out of the lineup to make room for both Hamilton and McLaren.
