Others have taken the step at this age. I can understand wanting him to stay in the minors, but I think they have talked to a lot of people before making this move. The insiders believe he is ready. And, if he's not, they'll send him back.

It's a joint decision. Lots of meetings to prepare grouops, and then I believe Gulutzan makes the call on the bench.

GMJN role in lines and D pairs:

Officially, none. He has a theory of letting the coaches coach. However, he and Gulutzan meet everyday, so Gulutzan is aware of his opinions.

So .... worst case scenario? Benn and Larsen out in place of Rome and Oleksiak.

I'm... okay with this.

Still towing the Benn is a center line even with all this wonderful depth we seem to have fallen onto.

I'm surprised he's saying GM Joe sees him as a center now. That didn't seem to be the tune last year and into the summer.

Its amazing how apathetic I am of the bottom 6 combinations as long as Vincour is on the 3rd line and Eakin is on the 2nd. With Smith gone I could care less how Morrow/Garbutt/Fiddler/Nystrom are mixed.

Would you possibly make any adjustments to that if you were the coach and having seen the past few games?

A: Yes, I would go: Dillon-Robidas, Oleksiak-Daley, Goligoski-Larsen. But that's just me. I think Oleksiak needs a solid defender to start out with.

Logic: Benn can go back to the AHL therefore he's gone. Since Rome truly is spare, Larsen should find his way into the lineup on a semi-permanent basis (although there should be not question he's an everyday player).
