All the fancy stick-work on the perimeter isn't going to do anything considering the point shots on this roster are quite weak, and no one seems to be decent at screening/tipping. Play it like a 5 on 3 and find the cross-crease pass.

Sometimes getting back to basics is all it takes to get the PP going. Some traffic in front of the net and a few point shots from the middle of the ice. I hate the side one timers because they tend to miss the net and clear the puck out of the zone.

The problem with the powerplay is lack of movement.

Guys like Datsyuk and Zetterberg can make this powerplay lethal if they start challenging the PK one-on-one.

Not all the time. But once a powerplay.
If the penetrate the box, they've got a great scoring chance. If they don't... the box is probably going to collapse to try and stop them.
Have your safety valve option (probably a drop pass) and you'll have opened some lanes.

Your safety option is one of the leading causes of shorthanded breakaways.

The Stars tried pulling something like this with Richards running the point and they set a franchise record for SH goals against. On the upside the PP was ranked #7. 36 PPG, 15 SHGA.

I watched San Jose put on a clinic on their PP Sunday night. Great puck movement and high probability shots. We are not taking advantage of the extra man. SJ spread em out and moved the puck quickly until somebody was left alone. We have the talent, just seem to be stuck in a rut
