I don't see how this helps much....Who are we giving up in this scenario?

They would likely want D and we are not in a position to give up Blum for Ward.

I don't know how much Washington values Ward, but I could see a 5th rounder or so depending on how much salary Washington pays. If it took Blum then no way do I do that trade.

If we could get Ward for a 4th round pick then I would do it. I always liked the guy.

Only like Ward is WAS will eat some of the cap.

Boychuck on waivers, Lokitnov (for however you spell it) asking to be traded from LA. Two cheap young pieces with potential.

Also, a BUF fan suggested something around Ellis and Stafford. I'm in.

Stafford is a heck of a player and 4 mil a year he would be a nice fit. and under contract thru 2015. Hes stuck on the 2nd line due to Vanek and Pominville so it would be his chance to jump to 1st line here. He has good puck moving ability and passes better than any forward we have. The question would Buffalo let him go hes entering his prime and has a very friendly contract.

Because of those reasons, I doubt it. Trade threads are frustrating because it just lands you in a fantasy world that will never be reality haha

Fantasy land is not so bad considering how poor the offense is playing now.

Fair enough. I wish it would happen but....just another letdown when it doesn't.

P.S. speaking of the Sabres, I think I've mentally associated the word 'buffalo' with wings and sauce. I'm hungry now.

while in fantasy land and Buffalo how about

To nashville Vanek, Ennis and Myers

To buffalo Weber, Ellis, Blum

Gives us 50 goals a year gives them some defense that they lack

Funny thing is something like that would probably work out fine in the end......but would never happen from a shock value standpoint. Havent looked at salaries though. I think if there's one player in the league I'd like to have on the Preds in a realistic big-time trade scenario it would be Vanek. I think he would fit perfectly here.

Hahahaha can you imagine what our defense would look like?

Myers - Josi
Klein - Hannan
Ekholm - Gill
Bartley?
Roussel?

No fun in the short term, but after we sign/draft other defensemen it wouldn't exactly spell inevitable franchise doom because of the offense we would get, and Myers is already good and only will get better. That said, we obviously aren't trading Weber. Although we may want to get used to the idea of trading a young d-man.

I'd do it. Our D looks bad, but adding two forwards for none means we could afford to trade someone like SK for a 2nd pairing D. Even if we don't make any moves, that is a young D will good potential. Plus our forwards would be so much better.

Vanek-Wilson-Erat
Legwand-Fisher-Ennis
Hornqvist-Legwand-Bourque
Halischuk-Spaling-Smith
Goose/Yip

Speaking of Buffalo, what about a Weber for Myers + Grigerenko/Grigensons deal? If we could get both I'd definitely do it, but if we could only get one I'd consider it pretty heavily.

Pure hypothetical I know they don't wanna trade Myers, and we don't wanna trade Weber, but if we did surely this could be one of the top returns.

I have to agree those top two lines especially putting legwand back on the wing make it even sweeter. The organization has not ever had the issue of coaching up the defense. The scoreing woes would be eliminated. Josi is showing he has the potential to be a top pair guy he would need a veteran there with him for a couple more years and it may just be insane but Klien may be able to do it. You could use SK and Smith for trade for a dman to help while the pipeline refills and develops.

Something like this will have to be done to ice a legit offensive team. There not going to get it out of the draft or F/A in a couple years. Myers on the 2nd pair with Hannan, gill in the 3rd with Ekholm, Bartley, or a pickup from trading Smith and SK with Pekka in net the D adquatea and an offense that could average close to 3 goals. This dawg could hunt.

With Weber being already elite, our captain, and under a new deal until he's 40, I don't think we would ever do a one-for-one swap, much less anything short of a home run trade....and that goes for any time in the next several years.

Purely hypothetical, but if we were to blow it up Myers+Girgs+Grig would have plenty of potential for a re-build. Now that the hard parts over with and Weber's signed I hope he stays with us until he retires.

Do you guys still own the rights to Radulov? If so do you think he would come back and what would it cost the Flames for his rights?

No, Rads is done here in NSH. They burned up his ELC last year when he returned for the playoffs.

Iggy would be interesting as a Pred tho.

We still own his rights, but he is not under contract. Unsigned RFA

Radulov isn't coming back to North America for a long time, if ever. I'd be thrilled to get a 4th for his rights at this point....

Thanks, as for Iggy it isn't unrealistic that we move him but we would be looking for 1st + top prospect so the price is step.
