Anyone else think that Alou Diarra to West Ham could be a cover up incase M'Vila ends up leaving? Could it mean that they are working on something and wanted some short-term cover incase the deal went through?

UPDATE: West Ham have denied that Mo Diame's release clause has been triggered, say "no bids" are in
1- There goes our "shocking" signing
2- Can someone please tell me that Monreal to Arsenal is official before I vomit all over the place, knowing that Santos is our "go-to-guy" in the abscence of Gibbs... PLEASE

Still a little disapointed that we couldn't get a CB to bump Mertesacker on the bench... oh well.

Mertesacker hate? I think he has been better this season than Vermaelen.

Doesn't make him good though.

Dreadful yesterday against Skouse, lackadaiscal, slow to move the ball, no urgency in closing on his man.

The whole back line needs an overhaul.

I like this Monreal move though, forces Gibbs to earn his place, maybe some time on the bench will help him put on some weight.

The CB signing has been pushed to the summer, unfortunately. But it should happen, barring random happenings. Also possibility for Santos to be moved still, given that the Turkish window closes tomorrow, and inquiries from multiple clubs.

Yup.

I'm so over Wenger.

edit* But we've seen lots of deals poor in late in the past, arshavin rings a bell here.

Still hoping for Diame and totally dreaming of Villa...probably going to be crushed, but still trying to be positive.

Short memory. Biggest signings last winter were Papiss Cisse, Alex, Thiago Motta. Pretty sure that was trumped this time.

Probably means for Arsenal, if you are on mobile you wouldn't notice the Arsenal shield in his avatar.

And when you factor in Wenger telling these stories of a big transfer kitty, and a willingness to improve the squad - that is in 6th effin' place.....it's a big dissapointment that we only added a LB because our first choice picked up a knock yesterday.

Well if he means for Arsenal then his memory is still short. You didn't sign a single player for the first team on a permanent deal last winter. This time you got a left back, so obviously it's better

I disagree.

Adding doesn't make it better, improving the squad does....

The 6 week loan of Thierry Henry did more for that squad than it will ever get credit, not to mention Arsenal weren't in 6th, hadn't sold their best player to Man Utd of all places, and that player is now leading them to the title.

Arsenal are in 6th....way worse shape than last year, with a worse squad....

It's all about expectations, but I'm finished ranting about it.

Some interesting comments from David Beckham at his press conference. "I always said unless it was Manchester United I wouldn't want to play for any other Premier League team," he insisted, despite receiving offers from elsewhere. The midfielder also revealed his salary will be donated to a children's charity.

unlikely to happen to happen ever. good luck in Paris

I'm not so hot on the M'Vila move. Rubin has been going through a lot of turmoil as they become a bigger and bigger mess. Their big buys have been blowing up in their faces, Rondon struggling this season, and Carlos Eduard, they're record signing, already needing to be loaned back to a brazilian team. The club have had a lot of public blow ups and it just seems like a poor environment, especially if the rumors about his ego/character turn out to be true.
