that a bit of a loaded question, thing is A) What do we get back? B) if he doesnt resign who will be our top center? We can go ahead with a bunch of unproven youngsters..
It would be awesome if we can get a first pick coming back and then weisser resigns, but that yields another question.. how much would you pay for weiss? Thing is that guy has been a consistent staple to the cats but he isnt a legit first line center.. I would love to keep him and keep on with the blue print of developing our guys slowly..
the free agency crop for centers next year isn't particularly strong besides getzlaf
I'm just excited to see some compteitive hockey from the Panthers. When Campbell can quarterback the breakout confidently, he is deadly. Everyone's showing the effort we need every game.
I was looking at Ottawa's depth chart and Karlsson and Turris are the only ones I'd go after and the chances of them being traded are absolutely garbage unless Weiss and or Kulikov was in the mix.
I'd throw out Weiss and Kulikov to Bryan Murray for a 1st round pick or 2nd round pick and Turris. Is that a fair swap?
Ottawa gets a proven 1st-2nd line center in Weiss and a touted top line d-man in Kulikov..........
We get a first round pick and a budding Center which we lack in depth.
