Also, people need to stop looking at Anderson as some sort of placeholder for Lehner. Anderson himself could very well be our goalie of the future. I know people around here like to think of players over the age of 30 as over-the-hill and finished, but look at Tim Thomas... Anderson could very well have another 8 years in him, while constantly improving.

We could easily have a Tim Thomas/Tuuka Rask situation in Ottawa with how Anderson has developed. He seems to thrive in this system, and he loves pressure. The guy has been amazing and people can't wait to get rid of him.

Reminds me a lot of Spezza. Makes me just shake my head.

I can only hope that Lehner likes this team enough to stick around.

We were 5th in the lottery by season end, so hypothetically we still had a shot (however slim) at RNH or Landeskog with Anderson.

What is he going to do? Ask for a trade? Go to Europe? If he's that kind of baby after all of this apparent maturation, I'd say good riddance.

Ottawa municipal police are looking for information after receiving calls by several Habs fans regarding a slew of robberies by one Craig Anderson on Brandon Prust. If you have video evidence of either of these incidents, please share them.

Thank you.

hehe Ottawa fans never had a real #1 goalie... It's like a brand new discovery

Can't wait to see the reactions when Anderson gets cold

Anderson is the best goalie in the league at the moment, and people still want to put Lehner in. If/when Andy cools down, it'll reach fever pitch.

According to Don Cherry on Twitter, Anderson is "goaltender deluxe." Whoa.

I just love the Anderson love. I've been a fan of him since watching him stop 47 shots against us when he played for Florida. I remember searching his stats on my phone and being impressed with his numbers as Vokoun's back-up.

Lehner is the future, but Anderson is the now. And right now, he looks amaze-balls.

You don't even have to go to Colorado as an example of Anderson's playoff performances. Andy went shot for shot with the Vezina winner last year. We certainly didn't lose against the #1 seed Rangers in 7 games because of Anderson.

Exactly. Anderson played well enough to be a Cup Winning goalie... vs the Rangers and through the 1 full season and 2 part seasons he has been in Ottawa.

I LOVE Lehner. I want him in the NHL as a backup. I think he will play far better then Bishop and we won't need to worry about giving Anderson time off.

In the future.... who knows. If Anderson keeps playing like this for a few years maybe we are forced to trade Lehner in 2 or 3 years? Quick wasn't supposed to be the long term starter in Los Angeles. It was supposed to be Bernier. But Quick has been too good for several years in a row.

I want the problem of having 2 goalies that are too good to have one of them backup. I am not worried about Lehner's development.... in fact NHL games and NHL practices are far better for his development now then playing every day in Bingo. He has mastered the AHL. Now he needs to face NHL competition... even if he only starts 6-10 NHL games for the rest of the season.

I actually feel sorry for the Avs. Losing Craig and getting Brian Elliott in return, oh the horror.
