I'm not saying I wouldn't take Jones. Just that it is rare that there is such an age gap between the top 2 prospects.

Considering the Bolts are stacked offensively as far as prospects go. I'd take Jones, in a heart beat. We have sooo many top 6 forwards in our pipe line it is a bit ridiculous. We would have to trade some anyway in the future as it is. Having Jones back there with Hedman rounding out our defense makes me want to drool.

I can see Yzerman just start breaking down in a fit of laughter.

Similar difference between Barkov (Sept '95) and Lindholm (Dec. '94). Certainly adds an element to the draft.

For Toronto I'd take Nathan McKinnon no question!

Not that I don't like Jones. I just have a feeling that while Jones might become a top pairing D-man, McKinnon will have a Teows-like effect on the team. Remember, Erik Johnson and Jonathan Teows were in the same draft year and I think its fair to say Teows has turned out to be the better pro.

McKinnon's combination of skating and scoring will make him a franchise C and we NEED that!

Ottawa senators I think would draft a center. I think McKinnon, Jones would be amazing too but since we have a young #1 D you gotta keep center depth alive.

I dunno, I think the JETS would take MacKinnon just because they need a sure fire 1st line talent.

Then again, I can see them taking Jones and building an awfully imposing blue-line with the likes of Enstrom, Byfuglien, Bogosian, Trouba, Jones, Stuart and Postma. They'd have the BEST right handed defense group with Buff, Bogo, Trouba, Jones and Postma. Someone would have to learn to play the left side.

As Edm I'd likely take Jones, although Barkov would definitely cross my mind. Personally I'd try to trade down to 3-4 and pick Barkov. To me he fills the biggest hole for them.

First line centers are harder to acquire than #1 dmens.

Hence i'd pick Mackinnon, but i'd seriously consider Drouin because of hockey sense. Both before Jones.

I think center is a more critical postion than all other.

I've always had Jones at #1 but it's tough... as a Canucks fan I can't help but feel our window is closing and I think Mackinnon can help out our playoff scoring woes...

Mackinnon

Buffalo gladly takes Seth Jones. After taking Grigs and Girgs last year, we finally have C depth in some capacity.

I think Chicago would go with MacKinnon, but I love Jones and I think I like Barkov a bit more than MacKinnon. If CHI got Barkov, that gives them great size up the middle and they could move Teravainen to the wing and in a couple years:

Teravainen - Toews - Hossa
Sharp - Barkov - Kane
Saad - Bolland - Danault

Toronto takes MacKinnon.

The next year, take Ekblad then McDavid.

FINALLY, C depth!

Blues would take Mackinnon if given the chance. We got so many wingers and no centers

I would want the Blues to take Barkov, but I doubt they would.

Arguments for Montreal could go for either Mckinnon or for Jones. Personally i would probably lean more towards jones. I believe a defense with Subban, Jones, Markhov, Emelin, Georges and Tinordi in front of Price would be just too sick to turn down!

Leafs would gladly take Seth Jones.

It would be nice to have a D consisting of Jones, Rielly, Gardiner and Phaneuf, would make our goaltenders look a lot better, improve the PP, PK and transition game.

I don't see the Jets with much depth anywhere. I like the idea of building the defense infront of Pav and try to build a team much like Nashville does. Good goaltending, good defense and big forwards to pound the other team into submission. The 2 smallest guys they have drafted are 6ft and one of them is 205lbs. I could be wrong but I hope that's their plan.

as a Red Wing fan I hope the Blues would take Barkov. But I don't think the Blues are in any danger of being in the running.

Habs would probably take Jones to finish their blueline for the future, but I would take MacKinnon. I love Galchenyuk, but I think MacKinnon would be terrific for the Habs future on offense. Having Mac and Gally as your number 1 and 2 centremen for such a long time is incredibly hard to pass up. I really like Jones as well, terrific talent on D, and I do think he'll be better than Johnson. I remember Johnson's "killer instincts" were being questioned at the time, can't say the same for this kid.

Sabres take Seth Jones, we have young centers with Hodgson/Grigorenko/Ennis that should be good for the future and Girgenson as well, we are in desperate need of a true #1 though that can eat up minutes, especially with Myers struggling..
