They have the same problem as Vancouver. Calls go their way all year, then they get to the playoffs where refs have to actually do their jobs properly and they fall apart.

3 out of 4 points on a back to back.

Last year would have been a big fat zero.

Good progress by Dubnyk.

He played well in regulation and OT.

Not 100% over the hump. Before the shootout I asked my buddy "Why doesn't everybody take a couple strides past the blue line, fake a shot to Dubnyk's glove side then lift one over his blocker when he goes down?"

That's how the two goals were scored.

When he plays a full game of not being so mind-numbingly predictable then he'll be the goalie who can carry us when need it.

Eberle has sweet hands but he really only has like 2 moves in the shootout. I agree he should get a chance next time but he needs to be more creative out there.

This is their what? Third comeback from 2-0 down already? And we've played a tonne of extra minute hockey already. This is a young team but it would be nice if that trend slowed a lil' bit.

You don't go with a player that no goals and is not a shooting type.

Chabot potentially cost the Oilers this game.

interesting, never looked at it like that. Could be very true

counter
-Goalie could get into a shootout groove (kind of a reach)
- Players much watch a ton of video on these goalies to know their tendencies

San Jose isn't a cheap team either. I've liked them for years and definitely cheering for them if it can't be the Oilers

It sucks that they found 2 goals on sloppy turnovers tonight considering that the Oil shutdown their bread and butter - the powerplay.

Well there was that one year where the Sharks won 6 consecutive ot victories and I think that was the year they lost to the Canucks in the WCFs, but keep on hating

3 out of 4 points on a back-to-back in Phoenix and San Jose?

The Oilers are tied for 7th overall in the league and the Flames are tied for last overall in the league.

Out of the 12 goals the Sharks have given up in their games this year, five are to the Oilers.

Never happy with a loss but the Oilers did well for themselves against a tough team.

This. End of discussion.

I'm embarrassed to be an Oilers fan sometimes. Why are we arguing about shootout choice?

Anyway, I thought Lander played well in his first game. Dubnyk was great.

You're saying that Krueger cost the Oilers a point for some strange reason then want to lead off the shootout with arguably the worst shootout player on the roster?
The Oilers played a good, gutty game and salvaged a point against the hottest team in the league in their building and all you can do is complain about the shootout?
How about giving an actual detailed analysis of the game for a change instead of complaining about petty things. There were more positives than negatives tonight.

Yes,but I remember from last year that there was a statistic that said:

Hemsky is 13 for 45 in shootouts.
