Well you can't really subtract four games and say it look better

Give it a few years... the pain of his departure is still too fresh.

Worth noting that going all the way back to Sheahan's college days, he didn't put up many goals. In fact, he scored 20 goals TOTAL in his three college seasons. So it's a big deal that he has 7 goals in his last 14 games now. He's starting to answer the questions about his offensive upside.

2 defensively responsible wingers so he doesnt have to play so defensively and playing with real high end talent. Hes showing he can at least keep up with a couple of really good NHL prospects which is a good thing. I would like to see him create more offense for himself but as long as he buries the chances he gets thats good too

@asktheduffer
Grand Rapids #AHL sign D Mark Mitera to a pro tryout.

Former 1st round pick, never played in the NHL. Big Michigan guy.

I remember when he was being touted as the next big thing to take over in Anaheim. Shame it never worked out for him.

I noticed him when someone posted unsigned free agent dmen back when we were trying to figure out who was being signed. That ended up being Huskins. Not a bad signing for GR. Good size defensive dman. Not sure he has any real untapped potential but he's still reasonably young. Even if he's just an AHL guy he's a good pick up.

Going to the Griffs game tonight, first one this season, and looking forward to seeing Gus and Tatar in action again. Also want to see Sheahan and Ferraro play well, but KH would have to clear out a LOT of dead weight on the bottom 6 for either guy to make an impact with the Wings anytime remotely soon.

Not the best game for the Griffins tonight- there were a few shifts where I thought they were skating 3 Cleary's up front and 2 Quincey's on the blueline. The team was pretty flat thru 2 periods, and Houston's D looked like vintage NJ Devils, not giving up many good chances. I'm guessing that the players were looking forward to the All Star break.

Nobody really stood out for GR. Nyquist and Tatar both probably had subpar games with a few too many giveaways, but did show a few flashes of why they should get a shot this season with Detroit- pretty slick passing on a 5 on 3 pp.

why would an organization with very little goaltending depth, trade their best prospect? and why would an average performance at an all star game depreciate his value?

Griffins signed Defenseman Brett Skinner 6'1" 195lbs to a contract yesterday
the guy has put up pretty good points in his AHL career.

Makes sense, they've got absolutely zero depth on the blue line right now. Seems like they're trying around until they find something they like, Spady and Mitera never led to anything.

Pretty sure if we sent Cleary and Eaves to the AHL no one would claim them off waivers.

Out of all the players left in the AHL, Nyquist leads the scoring and Tatar is 4th. Nope, not ripe enough.
