Dietz scores on the powerplay again. Moves him into a tie for 3rd in defenceman goal scoring in the WHL and tied for 1st for PP goals amongst defenceman in the entire CHL. He has ten power play goals on the year.

Dietz adds an assist at the end of the second. Hard slapshot on goal, Sutter put the rebound in.

Thrower has an assist. Both have been playing quite well tonight.

Vail is struggling hard right now. Not good in all 3 zones. Khoko taking away the #1C spot didn't help his production either.

Is dietz like a Marc-Andre Bergeron, future PP (only) type player?

He's much better in his own zone and he's got solid size. I don't think his shot is at the MAB level though, despite the goals he scores.

The only one in the system with MAB parallels is Nygren, and even he has supposedly picked up his overall game considerably.

And he will not get manhandled as a defenseman like MAB is.

He's also a much better skater and much more physical. Not the same kind of player at all. I could see Dietz ending up as an Adam McQuaid for us. Tough 3rd pairing D that plays PK.

Dietz is nothing like MAB and won't be a PP specialist. He's got a solid frame, will drop the gloves, can dish out some good hits, looks like the type that can do most things well but nothing great.

Um...no

The only common thing is Dietz's shot.

More of a Bieksa.

Brady Vail just crushed a Pete with a questionable hit. After that he dropped the gloves, fighting certainly isn't something that he looks experienced at.

It's the second time in as many games that he's almost crossed the line. Against Sudbury, Vail and another player were racing towards the puck and Vail turned and literally jumped on him before they could reach the puck.

While it certainly is nice to see him play with fire as he's been playing poorly lately, he has to make sure he doesn't cross the line.

EDIT: Just scored a goal. Gives him 40 points on the year.

Man, Windsor is just an atrocious team defensively. They seem to give up 4+ goals constantly. Already 5 given up tonight to a rebuilding Petes team.

Vail just scored to make it 5-4.

He needs to be signed by this summer doesn't? I wonder if he's high on the Habs radar, you would have to think he is.

Maybe a guy who will cross over this summer if he's signed...i'm intrigued by this pick
