It’s just the fashionable thing to do on this board. Shaw has been the weak link on the 3rd line. If Shaw has finally broken out of his slump, I look for that line to continue their fine play we saw in the last game.
There’s no questioning the efforts of Frolik, but he can’t score and doesn’t create much offense at all despite numerous opportunities. Talk about frustration! He also gets rag dolled a lot by the opps and is overpaid to boot. I know which player I’d rather have on the Hawks. Frolik as a PK specialist is fine by me, but for the money he makes he should bring more.
It's been 7 games. I said in a thread a few games ago that Bickell's been playing fine, and he has, but he's still Bryan Bickell. We know what we have in him. We know that he's inconsistent and that doesn't stem simply "from past years", as in a few years ago. It stems from last year and the year before; His only two NHL seasons.

I've said it before about Bickell, he doesn't want to be a mucker or grinder that goes to the net, finishes checks and chips and chases. That's what Chicago needs him to be. What Bryan Bickell is, is a guy that would rather stop up and take shots from just inside the blue. That would rather poke-check then finish a check. He's a power-forward without much of a power game. He plays so much smaller than he is, as if he doesn't realize he could easily overpower alot of Dmen if wanted to.

Bickell plays the role of a secondary scorer well and his passing is crisp this year too. He is very useful in that role. Stop looking at his big body and expecting him to be the prototypical power forward.

I agree that if he wasn't any good at what he does, then he should be forced to play different role or let go. However, he is a valuable scoring threat and should be recognized as such.

And I totally agree on Shaw, I said before the season he's nothing more than a 4th liner and not a particularly good one either. I'd be happy to see him sent down. Also, if he goes against Vancouver's first line, we're going to be giving up goals to them tonight.

Sorry, I just don't know how anyone sees Bickell as a scoring threat. He has an unreal shot, that he almost never gets on net and outside of his shot, he doesn't have any standout offensive skill. He's a depth player in the NHL and considering his inconsistent play, would be easily replaced. Frolik can be replaced too, I'm not saying he can't, but I'd rather have Frolik than Bickell.

Bickell has playmaking abilities too and they have improved from year to year. I don't see the replacement for him yet, maybe next year. Frolik, yes he has been an asset on the PK. I wouldn't have any problem with Saad there instead but at the moment, there is no need to move him. Shaw should go before both. Let him play in the AHL right now. I don't see a fit here with the Hawks for him.

Personally I'd rather they keep Shaw over Bickell, if it came down to the 2. Shaw just needs to be on the wing. He brings some scrappiness around the opponents net, which Bickell won't (despite his size).

got no beef with Bickell so far. he has been fine in his role and will score some goals for this team. no reason to take much heat this season, his skating has improved with him playing the lockout on the bigger ice, and that will be helpful down the stretch run.

Glad you pointed this out, beat me to. There's a difference between being fast in a straight-line race and being quick-footed and/or explosive, especially if talking about being confined to one zone, ie killing a penalty and being in your own zone.

I said Krüger is the 09/10 Madden

ever thought about the way they are used this year was meant? Krüger plays PK, Bottom 6 and is on the ice in close situations for the draws in case the Center of this line gets tossed away. Then he changes immediatly after the FO

Doesn't even have a clue what Maddog's PK FO % was in 09-10.

Maybe he just meant something will happen off ice like this.

I mean, look at this.

The limo incident happened in Vancouver too, so maybe we'll find out after this game.
