What team will show up tonight? Will anybody sit? Will Montoya get the start?
It's a crapshoot. I literally have no idea which team is going to show up. But like Wheeler said, " If we have trouble getting up for tomorrow's game, then we have a problem."
I sould suggest to Mr Wheeler that the fact they apparently had a problem getting up for the Florida game they just lost pretty much screams "Houston, we have a problem" already.
I'm pretty certain we're going to lose Buff for a significant portion of this season at some point - likely within days of Bogo's return.
In a way, I hope they don't pull off a miraculous win tonight. I don't want them to have any excuse for taking it easy over the downtime between tonght's game and their next one next Tuesday. Good feelings seem to breed complacency with this team...
As much as we cringed over our defence last year; going into tonight we have replaced Buff, Bogosian and Oduya with Clitsome, Postma and Redmond.
Can't complain about the offensive output as we have scored at least 3 goals a game for five straight games. Our offence actually looks a lot more potent than last year and we still haven't seen Wheels A game. The big concern in my opinion is our lack of depth on D. Once Zach and Dustin are back we will be okay, but we just can't afford to lose our top guys. Oh, and Pavs has to keep it together.
Guys, whatever happened to the Bro Day Threads? I am thinking we need a little "Bro Therapy" around here. Also, what the hell is ps241 doing in a tropical wonderland? It is -40 plus in the wind, we are on a slide here people!?!?! That is almost like the President golfing all week while the country is tanking...ps241 - get back to your post in the Peg!
I'll be the pessimist this time and say we get blown out with a Stamkos hat trick. (My friends pessimistic attitude towards his team seems to be doing wonders for them soooo...might as well give it a try lol)
I have a weird feeling that we play lights out tonight, dominate the Lightning and win this one easily.
Why? Because it doesn't make any sense. That's why.
That's what I was saying yesterday. If it doesn't make any sense it's bound to happen with this team.
I'm also excited to see the Lightning's scoreboard, that thing is giant and shows a ton of stats throughout the game. Garrett would be in hockey heaven.
I think we should sit wellwood tonight and get scheifele in there maybe he can provide a spark for this team. And wellwood has been horrible this year IMHO.
Win or lose, I want to see this team be motivated from puck drop, and dictate the play like they did during thier winning streak. Get the puck deep, skate hard, bang bodies, cause mayhem in front of the net.
In short, show us that 'tallest in the league and 3rd heaviest' team that we enjoyed so much. If they are going to try and dangle across the blueline and continually turn the puck over in the centre ice area we will get roasted.
Oh, and it would be nice to see Pavelec show up tonight.
the only thing im excited about in this game is the new Tampa Bay scoreboard.
Holy crap, that looks like a mini version of the Cowboys Stadium scoreboard.
Have to say, I'm a bit jealous of Tampa Bay and all their arena improvements. Talked to a girl who went down there for a Jets game last year, said it's pure luxury. Beautiful concourses, bars and gourmet food everywhere. I really want to take in a game there.
I'm going to be spared most of the slaughter tonight as I won't get to see any/most of it. Just as well, this team is going to cause me to have a coronary.
