I was oddly proactive with the few online classes I took. Would just plow through everything at the beginning of the semester when the homework load was still light. 2-3 days, it's done and I didn't have to think about it again.

If there were smart phones, tablets, or ubiquitous laptops when I was in school, I'd have never graduated.

This is the reason why I sit in the front row in every class I have.

That way I am not nearly as tempted to take out my iPod to browse hfboards and other forums.

Still doesn't change the fact that I still do it occasionally, but not nearly as much as when I afforded myself to sit back.

Just got my computer back after 2 weeks.

Good: I can start recording videos again!

Bad: I can't record audio.

Edit: Scratch the bad one.. I just fixed it!

Yup. Same here. Plus I got distracted easily when the person in front of started Facebook creeping/playing Angry Birds. Didn't want to look but I couldn't help it.

Just enrolled on this semester's classes. Swedish, more English, more history, geography and chemistry.

Yay, I guess. Swedish will be, um, an issue to say the least. I never really bothered to learn it, and this is much higher level than in middle school or business school.

Yeah, pretty much. It's called "chemistry of human and our surroundings", not something I'd expect from a college-level course.

Not sure if I should refer to lukio as college or HS, any fellow Finns care to help me out on this? Since you can go directly to university from there, I'd guess college is closer.

I would probably die without my computer for two weeks.

I'd be an addict suffering severe withdrawal.

I would too...if not for my work PC and my cellphone.

Girlfriend had the 30 Rock finale last night. That show is awful. Reminded me why I stopped watching about two episodes in on Netflix.

Thats why the teachers at my University don't allow laptops unless you are sitting in the first row.

Weekend projects:

1. Install a programmable thermostat (should take about 5 minutes)
2. Install a shooting tarp in my basement

So I am wondering if any of you guys or gals good with computers can help me solve a little dilemma I've been having. Haven't been able to get a straight answer from Google, Yahoo Answers (d'uh) or miscellaneous tech forums out there.

I am looking to transfer/make a copy of a 2TB Western Digital MyPassport HDD to another 2TB WD HDD. Have an iMac with USB 2.0. Normally if I'm just doing computer to HDD or vice versa, the transfer rate is at a GB per minute. When doing HDD to HDD it is about half that speed because of sharing the motherboard, etc.

This would take ALL day, at least, if I did it the standard 'drag & drop' (whether it's all the files at once or one at a time). Is there a better option than this? Have read about some large transfer programs, but all the somewhat reliable ones seem to be for PC. Do I have to worry about the source HDD getting fried spending so much time working/transferring?
