Haven't been to a game since I was a kid.. Looking to buy on kijiji.. are there many scammers out there I need to be worried about? If it is a printed ticket, is there a good chance it is legit?

I suggest buying from here. You'll most likely pay less and don't have to worry about being scammed.

One of the best ways to ensure that you aren't scammed is to get the ticket electronically transferred. I don't mean that they send you an e-mail of a PDF of the tickets, but that they send the ticket through the official Ticketmaster ticket transfer process. Once tickets are transferred this way, the original ticket holder has no control over the ticket, and they can't re-print.

Interesting.. Is there a way to do this without first sending them money hoping they will transfer? I'd buy from on here but haven't yet seen the game I want to go to (March 30 vs Canucks).

I wonder if there is a way to pay through the ticketmaster transfer process

Edit: Never mind! This looks like a great way to transfer tickets..

Almost everyone has a smartphone these days. What I usually do with people who I haven't yet established trust with, is I meet them in person, they pay with cash, and I do the electronic transfer on the spot. The person then checks their e-mail and does the transfer to their own account. You get what you want and the seller ensures that they get paid. Of course like anything, it is less trouble to do businesses with people you trust in the first place

I'm pretty sure it is okay to post that you are looking for particular games in this thread and I'm sure you will get some offers to sell them to you. Good luck!

Thanks! Problem is that I live in Saskatoon and am pretty much forced to either do it online or have one of my parents meet up with someone in Edmonton (they are not tech savvy so that is a bad option hah)

Yeah that limits your options somewhat. You do have to trust someone eventually though... I agree that this place is a better place to start than Kijiji.

Yeah I'd like to do it here if possible or transfer over ticketmaster.. The guy I am dealing with now says that he can't transfer them over ticketmaster because they have already been emailed to him and printed.. hrm

I have to call BS on that (if I am understanding the situation correctly). As long as you actually own the ticket you can re-print and you can transfer. The last printed ticket will just invalidate prior tickets, but shouldn't disallow you from transferring if the game hasn't happened yet...

I've bought from Kijiji a few times and it was all good but I was nearly scammed once and am worried about it now with the electronic tickets. If you buy from here or get the electronic ticket transfers done you should have nothing to worry about.

Oddly enough, I called the Oilers and the fellow who answered said that season ticket holders cannot do the ticketmaster transfer... was he out to lunch? Anyway I think I might just wait until they go on sale... any idea when the March 30 game will be available? I don't typically pay attention to when tickets go on sale as I never go

Yeah, out to lunch or didn't understand the question. I've done the majority of my ticket sales this way.

You should just subscribe to the Oilers mailing list. They have timely updates on that sort of thing.

Selling my extra ticket to Canucks game on Monday, and most likely on Wednesday against Dallas as well.
Seat is section 208, row 35, seat 10.
I charge $60 and face value is ~$86 but the best part is you'll get to hear my witty banter for a few hours.
