It's Noel. He does weird things sometimes. I'm really starting to believe that he may not be the coach going forward for this team.

I don't. Your totally that guy sitting there with the program and pencil writing everything down, and pushing your recommendations to Noel through the space in the glass.

I still hold out a glimmer of hope for the Jets once Bogo and Buff and are back in the lineup.

In the meantime, this tune has me kind of jacked for tonight's game!

I was really quite surprised when Noel was even considered for the head coaching job in the first place. MacT was interviewed...proven, respected, smart, winner. I'd be a lot more comfortable with him driving.

I think Scheifele and Wellwood are a wash at this point. Wellwood is probably capable of making more 'splash' type plays with his passing ability, but honestly, so many cycles and forays into opposition territory are just dying on his stick. I think Scheifele would probably end up being an improvement to the Jets puck possession game.
IMO Scheifele would indeed help the puck possesion game and provide some at least avergae puck distribution. Our centers are really lacking in this area and I believe the power play is reflecting that. We don't have a C that can control the puck / play and find players in scoring positions at even an avergae level , imo.

At this point ( Feb ) I think keeping Scheifele , playing at C on at least the third line and having him get quality PP minutes and practise time is the better option. He can contribute and gain experience and be better for it next October and therefore make the Jets better as well.

Move Burmistrov to a wing position as he is not and has not shown he is generating offense in a meaningful way and at least at this stage , he would be more productive there than at C , again only my opinion.

Well I'll be sitting through this game on prescription cough syrup and double doses of NeoCitran and Buckleys... at least it will be something I'll experience in a dull haze.

I can't think of a single way that Scheifele is a better fit between Ladd and Little than Burmi.

Because burmistrov fits better with antropov and ponikarovsky?

Hell, i would say try ladd/little/scheifele but little has been playing so good on the wing.

Burmistrovs is much better defensively than Scheifele. Ladd/Little go against the tough competition. I'm much much more comfortable with Burmi getting 18 minutes a night against Stamkos than with Scheifele getting those minutes.

I wouldn't categorize MacT as any more of a winner than Noel. At time of hiring MacT had a 0.529 winning percentage as an NHL head coach.

Noel had a 0.542 winning percentage as an NHL head caoch (granted it was a partial season) and a 0.6275 percentage as an AHL head coach over 5 full seasons)

That's cool, I think it really comes down to how Noel would use them in the end.

In my lineup I was thinking that lines 1 and 3 would get the tougher assignments, leading to a slightly sheltered line 2 with Scheifele.

If Scheifele goes on the 3rd with Burmi and Poni, I would think Noel would give lines 1 and 2 the tougher assignments and leave line 3 somewhat sheltered.

In the end I'm thinking whatever line Scheifele is on gets the sheltered minutes. And I just gave him Ladd and Little because I thought that if Scheifele is getting his 1 game as a centre, I wanted to see him with good linemates (not that Poni and Burmi aren't good).

From a skill perspective I totally agree with you. Burmi has played very well for us this year IMO. I am a huge Burmi fan.

It really comes down to usage I guess. In the lineup that I put MS with Ladd and Little, I was assuming that the other two lines would get tougher work.

If Noel used the top 3 lines in order from toughest to easiest minutes, I would for sure put MS on the 3rd after Burmi.

This might be the preferred way to watch the game tonight.

Simply put you change the matchups then. Get the Burmistrov line out there checking the Stamkos line, let the Kane unit match up against Lecavier and put the Little Scheifele Ladd line out against Tampa's third line.

Matching lines on the road is a bit difficult.
