This.

This.

Oh yeah.. this. We have NO legitimate threat from the point. When you have a threat at the point, teams will tend to play the point tighter thus opening up space down low and vice versa. We already have the passing threats from down low.. we need a Triggerman. And it doesn't even have to be a star like the examples you gave. Just get a dude for the 3rd or 4th line (or even a Dman) who can load up a cannon 1 timer.

I think Staal could be that guy. When he shoots, it's magic. See the Toronto game a few days ago in the 3rd period and the now famous Game 5 OT winner against Washington

yep-- exactly what we need. it does everything. discourages shot blocking, opens up the middle, harder to catch last second

Rozsival had a great one-timer when he let it go.

I notice that whenever teams are on the PP against us, we seem to sit back and let them pass it around. We try to block their passing and shooting lanes, but we don't put pressure on the puck.

When we are on the PP, teams come out right in our faces and it causes mistakes.

I don't know what is going on, but we outnumber the other guys. If a defender comes strong to the puck, someone else should be open.

Maybe they need to work on passing crisply so that they can take advantage of this better.

PP point specialist...It must be the hardest position in modern day professional hockey to fill because the Rangers have been lacking it for years since Leetch left . We are going to have to give something to rent a guy like that who can shoot and pass it off like a Markov or Subban in Montreal does . We cannot expect to be an elite team when we are missing such an important part . The King has made a lot of players and coaching staff look brilliant in the last few years .

Strange. Had to watch the local Pens broadcast for the game last night and they never mentioned Malkin doing that.

I'm surprised they didn't laud Evgeni for trying to fix Staals helmet with his stick.

It wasn't far off, if I remember correctly.

They were also pretty displeased when DZ rocked Crosby because he had his stick between his legs, but were all grins and compliments when one of their guys did the same thing on the very next shift.

ROOT Sports spells "ignorant and palpable bias" somehow. I just haven't figured it out yet.

Pens announcers were honestly a part of the reason why I got GCL over Center Ice this year. I couldn't take it. Worst homers in the league. My blood pressure thanked me.

That entire organization is just garbage from the top down.

Same here.

As far as our PP goes, it almost seems like teams know how terrible it is so they play more aggressively against it because they can.

re: Malkin. At first I thought he was just falling down and the stick swing was a result of him falling, of course that isn't an excuse since you are still responsible for it.
Upon watching that video again today....wow, only a penguin could get away with that.

How could that tomahawk not even be a review from the league? Oh right, because it's the Penguins.

**** off.

The sad thing is i'm not surprised at all.

That whole organization is a disgrace. The Pens got some serious talent, but I don't respect a single one of them.

This league continues to turn a blind eye to anything their two golden premadonnas do. And it's going to stay this way.

Crosby and Malkin could vanish tomorrow, and I would not care one single bit. Two less whiny self-righteous players in the league.

I'd love to give Steigerwald some sweet chin music, with a skate on.

You want to know why Philly stacks up well against Pittsburgh?

It's not because Philly knows how to exploit their D, it's because they know who the **** it is they have to lay a booming hit on, and when either Crosby or Malkin pull off some funny **** during the game, someone on the Flyers will return the favor.

That nudge Girardi gave to Crosby I hope is a turn in the right direction for the team as a whole.

Agreed. Enough with the respect to these two whiny babies. That hit that Giroux layed on Cindy in the opening minute of Game 6-that's what I want to see. DZ's hit last night was nice, but is it too much to ask for someone (calling Staal, Marc) to lay a booming open ice check on one of them?

McCabe didn't help our PP. McCabe didn't increase scoring. McCabe didn't improve the defense. Hell, McCabe's speed was synonymous to a narcoleptic snail.

Agreed on the need of someone who can shoot from the blue line.

Also, how strange is it that the rangers #1 PP line is just their normal #1 line.

How many teams do that?

I know we traded some depth for Nash, and Im not knocking that trade, but it really exposed how thin this team really is.

Ferriero is playing 10+ minutes a night, and his upside is what, maybe a 10 goal season?
