Funny we talk about this when I just noticed two Leafs jerseys behind the Panthers bench.

Damn. 900 jobs lost at Future Shop/Best Buy. 18 stores closed. Internet shopping kicks'em in the nuts. Sears cut another 700.

Not just e-shopping, but also the digitalization of media. Steam, PSN, Netflix, iTunes, etc are probably killing Best Buy for software and media sales.

Even the big title video games are now available to download on the PSN.

Something as simple as this can have a large impact on the store than you'd imagine. Whenever I go to buy a videogame at future shop or best buy, I usually also buy something with that. Headphones, speakers, PS3 accessories, etc. Best Buy now loses that. I'd say that currently 50-60% of my purchases are online (Amazon, BestBuy.ca, eBay).

I wonder if E shopping really does that, i mean how much money can people spend at these places every year. as in i have a tv laptop computer ipod etc but i don't need to re buy these things every year they are good for a long time.

i mean there was probably a huge boom when everything got switched to HD but now all that should be slowing down again and prices dropping.

i don't know i could be way off base here.

This is true however here there's usually an extra £10-15 on top of it's usual store price...

People buying stuff hasn't stopped, it's probably increased. It's just how they buy it. Best Buy's profit margins are way down, and online shopping is easier, cheaper has a better selection and is more convenient.

That sucks. That market is so competitive anyways like when I look for head phone I know I can get them online cheaper and can check 4-6 stores in a matter of minutes instead of wasting gas.

Sportsnet logic

Canada's fifth ever appearance at the Davis Cup, with one of the tennis worlds rising young stars and one of the best doubles players ever, playing against the best country in the world. But due to a bunch of injuries, Canada has as good a chance as they could hope for to make a huge upset. This deserves SD.

What deserves HD?
